Just a note on setup confidence - you can see the actual percentage while the car is still on the track, but it's hidden in Strategy view / Drivers (so if it's high enough, you can just leave them out for more track acclimatisation)

Save the hards for practice 2. Builds the track acclimatisation up more

I do 3-4 10 lap runs to get a better understanding of the setup and then guess on the final setup (fuck cheat sheets) and then for P2 i run hards for the whole session Edit: to anyone reading this I got the sack after 2 seasons(fuck you yuki tsunoda for using 8 gearboxes) so i might not be person you should take advice from

Wait what?? As long as the line stays above the prediction I'm not losing time even if the tires are too hot? Or did I understand that wrong? I'm always afraid to overheat because it feels like I'm losing time

Yes, the way tyre temps work is that higher temperatures have higher degradation that is where your main pace loss comes from. Running aggressive/attack more than makes up for the tyre loss meaning you can run it and gain time while overheating your tires aslong as the degradation doesn't become to severe.

Hi, thanks for this. However, I prefer just simulating the sessions rather than manage them. Although, I have noticed that when there is a sprint race, I don't get to do 3 practice sessions and a chance to change the set-up before Q1. Why is that? I wasn't sure if that was correct or if I had a fault with my game? Thanks in advance!

Sprint weekends work differently, in sprint weekends it goes P1 - Q1,Q2,Q3 - P2 - Sprint - Race. In other words for sprint weekends you only get one session to set up your car before quali.

I have to be honest, I’ve never understood people using cheat sheets or calculators, on a game like this. What the point in playing the actual game? Just watch somebody else play through. By the way, not having a go at you buddy. I’ve been watching your vids for a few weeks, and enjoy them 😊

The main reason why I use a spreadsheet is time, I have no problem getting 100% if I take manual control of a practice, but it would be rather time consuming and once you've done a practice once with the setups you have basically done them all. It is just more efficient use of my time to use a spreadsheet.

Well, if it's anything like last year's, it just affects driver confidence and there's no direct relationship with how the car will actually perform (e.g. low downforce won't actually make it faster on the straights in the race). It doesn't really need much in the way of skill, it's just a puzzle to solve - which is why 100% setups can be easily calculated with an algorithm. There's also no way to save setups from previous seasons. Personally I start with a reference setup from a cheatsheet and then fiddle with it if necessary.

@CarloTheCurious I agree with you. A lack of this game it's exactly wath you said about setups. In my opinion, the game need a "basic start setup" at first season and then to save automaticly the setup of year before (more or less likes in reality)
