The Handley Page H.P. 42 was the world´s first four-engined commercial aircraft. It was also the largest at the time. The H.P. 42 made its first flight on November 17 1930. Le H.P.42 fut le premier avion quadrimoteur commercial du monde. Il fut aussi le plus grand avion de transport de l'époque. Le H.P. 42 fit son premier vol le 17 novembre 1930. Think what an Airshow stealer that would be! But of course H&S would be all over it in a flash insisting on changes etc. Even the word "Imperial" would probably get removed in case it was deemed racist and offended some ruddy snowflake!
This airliner looks to be sturdy and conservatively designed, based on the craft that HP built in WW1. I wouldn't fly it into a heavy thunderstorm, but in fair weather, in daylight, flown by a sober, qualified pilot, it looks safe. Lots of control surface & wing area.
