Molten lithium is one thing I have not seen before. I recently read a lengthy paper about battery recycling. The most common method for lithium batteries is to literally just light them on fire. It's kind of ridiculous, they don't even bother to recover the lithium, just the more expensive elements like cobalt. I wonder if there's something an induction heater might have to offer to more easily extract lithium from batteries before they go wholesale into the furnace.

Unless it is in a chamber I don't think it would be illigal. Not legal advice but I dont think blowing up a cartridge with duct tape on it would sent you to prison I was more concerned about him being hit with brass shrapnel from the case, as the tape would let it build up slightly more pressure. The bullet is too heavy to go anywhere ouside a chamber.

I have a video idea but it’s kinda random. Could u get a fully pressurized aluminum scuba tank and put some gallium on it and wait till failure? Bonus points if you catch the failure in slowmo. Edit Maybe rough up the bottom of the tank and put it in a small pool of liquid gallium heated with a candle or something. You might get a rocket. Consider keeping a rifle near by so you can easily end the test if you need to
