The entire work the Messiah is a masterpiece.
This is one of the greatest pieces of music ever written.
The way the conductor slows the choir at 2:16 right before the final "King is kings and Lord of lords." He should be given a Nobel Prize for that move!
Imagine what it will sound like in heaven when the Lord is praised!
Handel's "Hallelujah!" is one of the most magnificent pieces of music EVER composed. From a young kid to age 28 I would sign it at church for every Christmas service. This song is one of my favorite classical songs to this day.

Great performance , the most incredible fact is that Handel composed this in 1741 and it is still being performed all around the world and it will be forever ! ! I do not hear any popular music from 282 years ago , that's the reason they call it classical music ! ! !

Christ is risen!
Praise be to George Frederick ! What at genius at creating music to touch the soul.
This is my all time favorite Christmas music. I'm surprised, however, at how many people don't know to stand up when this piece is being sung. The story goes that King George II stood up during the chorus at the Messiah’s 1743 London premiere. Nobody really knows the reason but a few stories go that he may have stood up to stretch his legs because The Messiah is 2 hours long. Others think that he might have been so moved by the music that he stood and in doing so the audience would stand up as well. At any rate, it is now customary to stand up during this chorus.
Oh my God this is beautiful
happy easter, may there be peace and joy on Earth
Amen Praise The Lord
This classic piece sends chills down my spine. I have been listening to this since I was a young girl in Belize. They would play this at the end of each crusade. It touches my heart every time. ❤ Bravo 👏 👏 👏
Thank you for this beautiful music Blessings to all who listen
Incredible! Always so worshipful. Just moves my soul every time. If the chorus and music sounds this amazing down here, what must heaven sound like?
An utterly magnificent performance
'And His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory' Ezekiel 43:2. Tears, shivers down the spine. I stand in awe of the wonder and majesty of the Lord our God and in great admiration and respect for Handel. The best piece of music ever composed.
The standing up for Hallelujah Chorus, I thought it was just a Nigerian thing. Great to see everyone acknowledges the Lord Jesus Christ as the Messiah. Glory to God!

Georg Friedrich Handel left his mark on his time thanks to his intense and majestic compositions. In this vast fresco composed in 1741, Handel displays all the nuances of his consummate art of sound painting, recycling if necessary some of his Italian duets composed the same year. He drew his inspiration from the music of his native country, Germany, he was inspired by his numerous travels, particularly to Italy, and he was attached to the traditions of his adopted country, England. This oratorio is the subtle balance between the recitatives, few in number, the arias and the choruses contributes to the support of the dramatic action; the intensity is maintained, as is often the case, with great sobriety of means in the writing by virtue to the chord orchestration. His talent and this clever mix have made him one of the greatest composers still performed firmly in the prestigious operas. Many of the master's oratorios are still performed nowadays, but it is truly Messiah which left its mark on the history of music. Music accompanies life! *Lucien*
What is that like for the conductor? OMG! To be in the midst, that close to the musicians and singers must be a spiritual experience.
