Ty Audrey great content. I'm now 68 but when I was in my 20's and early 30's I actually worked in a shoe factory sewing high end shoes and boots. It has helped me out so much in choosing beautiful quality leather shoes, boots and handbags. If you buy just one high quality handbag rather than 10 cheap ones you will never regret it. I remember my first quality handbag it was hundreds of dollars. At the time it was a lot of money and my friends thought I was crazy. I still use that beautiful cognac croc leather bag with the beautiful gold hardware today. It's allmost 40 years later and it's classic timeless design makes it still in style.

Audrey, your fashion sense is impeccable, your videos are informative, educational and entertaining, but you voice is music, your elocution and enunciation are perfection and your overall presentation is magic. Maybe that's because, unlike many other creators, you're always dressed so sharp and speaking passionately about something you're genuinely interested in. I know your videos are not ASMR, but you have a voices that most ASMR content creators would sell their souls for. I would listen to you count. I have never heard of matching a bag to my hair colour, what a nice idea. The bags you featured are lovely.

This concept is logical...I'd also like a study on what, and why a handbag works for our body shape (if there is such a thot) I also Iike the point on choosing a bag close to your hair color...yes, Audrey you exude grace and beauty...thank you...

I'm a big fan of matching shoes and bags, though that's not the only option. Some say it's outdated, but it's a classic. What very helpful tips in terms of checking the quality and condition of the bag before you buy.

I'm honestly not a fashion girl since I WFH and rarely go out of the house, I subscribed because the way you talk is very soothing and you're enjoyable to listen to when I'm doing a project. These information are great for when buying bags as gifts, win win, thanks!

Another great video. I use cardboard tubes from empty paper towel or wrapping paper rolls to stuff my bags. Just cut to size and slip in. I stack them lengthwise from bottom to top. I find it works very well for softer unstructured bags.

I have a Coach travel wallet I purchased just out of college in 1981 and it has aged just beautifully. Coach girl for life!

Great info! I'm not as thin as I used to be. I look sideways in a mirror when chosing a bag because the wrong shape or strap length can make me look not as polished.

Funny story a senior friend of mine had several bags that were vintage or antique she wanted to give one to a visiting friend as a gift! When the friend took it home to look at. She had quite a shock 😮 inside were old bras and old panties that she had used to stuff the bags to hold their shape😅😂. I was so glad you said tissue paper!

Another lovely video. I recently purchased a brand new darker taupe handbag from my local thrift store. I almost didn't purchase it however I thought to myself I do not own anything like this. I am so happy I did purchase it. Now I have an idea of what to wear with this particular color of a handbag. ❤

Love the Luna bag (and the Drippy bag that I just noticed on the site)! Too bad the Song bag doesn't have any way of closing the top -- you absolutely cannot use it if you're going to be anywhere in public in NYC (sidewalks, subways, stores, elevators, restaurants/cafes/coffeeshops, etc.). It's way too easy for someone to reach in and snag your wallet/phone

Please read customer reviews BEFORE purchasing! I've read some bad customer reviews, which is why I did not purchase any bags from them!

Exceptional video, Audrey. Your tips for choosing an investment bag were so helpful. I love the simplicity of these bags.

I spent a lot of time shopping for handbags a few years ago. When I looked closely, however, all the prized bags were made of calf leather. I do purchase leather shoes and bags, but I have to draw a line at calves. I won't buy calf leather.

I love the tip about hair color. Now I understand why I gravitate to black bags. I worried it felt harsh but not anymore. Sigh I am going to keep the Songmont bag on my wishlist. For now I have the anthropology mini hollace which gives me a similar vibe.

Please read customer reviews on Songmont bags before you decide to purchase! I've read some bad reviews, which is why I've decided not to purchase from them.

Such great advice and reminders - thank you! I am definitely going to investigate Songmont. My Mulberry bags (well cleaned, stored and stuffed!) are what introduced my to really fine craftsmanship and the pleasure of carrying a beautiful handbag. I will have them for a long time and have never regretted the investment.

@@gailwilliams5278 Putting feet on a purse? They have a prong that goes though the leather and gets capped in the interior. They are easy to install if you have an awl to pierce through thick material. If you're afraid to do it yourself, you can take the handbag to the cobbler, they will do it for you. (Search for images of "purse feet" and you will see they're a simple contraption. Some are pressure fastened, some screw on, some have prongs that are flattened and covered by the handbag's lining.)

The bucket bag seems to be inspired by the Hermes Picotin in Etoupe.

Excellent advice to follow hair color.

Stuff with pool noodles. They are flexible and can be easily cut to fit as needed.

Beautiful bags

Being Italian we are raised seeing quality leather bags, even tho now days I see women go around with expensive plastic fake ones that feel like touching a snake. So sad!! My personal are all leather and I remember buying it at TJ Maxx for $140 left there. Amazing middle size with the most exquisite ice grey leather that will be around for a long time and I get so many compliments about.

I don’t like bags too fat like a bucket. I do use canvas tote’s because my outfits are cali casual and I carried my iPad everywhere. Now I try to wear more polished outfits and only bring a phone and wallet, I bought a couple of medium small structured leather bags and enjoy them very much.

Having more different bags will give you different choices, or feelings. I used to think bags with full leather inside and outside were high-end, but now I think bags lined with cloth are better because they are lighter. *gtdupe*

Back in the day, they used to say if you’re a larger framed person you should choose a large bag. Do you think that is still a wise rule of thumb?

I am too scared to invest in high end brands as a lot of brands have started to use glue and cheap hardware added with faux leather I don’t think they can recover their reputation in my eyes so I woudl rather have a cheaper bag
