Hand Picked JDM Perfection: Wekfest Japan 2023

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Wekfest is one of those event's I've wanted to attend for a while now and it did not disappoint! Japan's best builds all in one place - DC2 and DC5 Integra's, Civic, S-chassis, FD and FC RX-7, Skyline's, Supra's, and so much more!
Really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment!

Another fuckin BANGER Steve! THIS is why I LOVE your videos man You show the subtle interesting things that the bigger channels wont because YOU love them, not what will get views with clickbait headlines. Ive watched at least 30 videos from this event by others and swore there was only 10 cars there based on what they showed. SUPER cool to see the High End shops starting to do Sex Spec style interiors too

Thanks man! I just look at what I'm drawn to...I should try the clickbait approach to help pull in new viewers. hahaha Jk jk. Really appreciate the support! I really like the Alcantara wrapped interiors! It's definitely a neat evolution of how they used to do it. It's just funny that when the interiors were fresh and in good shape in the Sex Spec hay days, they were doing the full custom interiors to be different and standout. And now that all the OEM interiors are worn and haggard, they're doing it as a last resort means of restoring them. haha

@35:00 Its called a CR-X Ballade Mugen Edition. Essentially a showpiece for what you could buy through the Honda Dealership from Mugen's Racing development and was powered by a carbed ZC06 The First gen was never sold here in Australia but there are a few around, but THIS is the Holy Grail of First Gen CRX's, INCREDIBLE

That's super cool. Did all first gen's have the flared guards like that? I'm not sure if we ever got this model in America? I'm more familiar with the second gen(?); like the body style after this like 88-89ish? That's a lot of question marks - you can tell how familiar I am with the chassis! Haha. I did notice the bronze glass when editing though - that's such a neat touch.

@@BRICKHOUSESPL No its even earlier, 83-87. They were sold in the US and you could buy MUGEN parts direct from Japan through the Dealer Network. Theres a few of these in the States that were either brought in from Japan or built by dealers themselves as Show pieces for the Auto Shows of that time. Theres a great video that Larry chen did with Kenji from Greddy USA and his Gen 1 where he talks a lot about the history of the cars I got offered to buy one here in OZ that was crazy cheap but Parts for my Gen 2 are hard to come by as it is and with it not being sold here theres very little if anything for them Down Under

I talked to him and his friend after I spotted them packing up while on my way back to my car. The valve cover is a replica, but it's cool to know such a clean build actually gets used on track. Essentailly a D Series Block with a ZC head amongst other slight differences I know because i have an Aussie delivered one and some of the ZC stuff doesnt fit, dont ask me how i know that hahaha

As far as Integra unicorns go, USDM Integra Type Rs are more rare than JDM ITRs. And i think the white USDMs are the rarest (don’t quote me) as most were yellow or black.

@@BRICKHOUSESPL the US market tried to sell them but they weren’t very popular here. Not until the last decade, anyways.
