Hand Of Fate: Rolling Stones Guitar Solo Cover

Музыка

I have always loved Wayne Perkins' super tasty solo on this track. So much so that I finally learned it. Just trying to do it some justice. I'm on the right channel and the original is on the left. Thanks for watching.

Pro Tools
Native instruments Guitar Rig. "Gratifier". (I found a suitable setting on an emulation of a Dual Rectifier, of all things. I think Wayne may have used an Ampeg. Don't know. This was '75 and I don't think the Stones had gotten with Boogie yet. Please comment if you know any info about this. Would love to know!!)

Thanks! Yeah, very PRS. I just discovered the Yamaha Weddington. It's similar to that as well.

Wonderful play - I'm such a fan of this guitar solo. Unfortunately I don't play but I was thankfully blessed with a solid ear for talent and quality work. Ever attempt the other Wayne Perkins masterful solo on the Stones "Worried About You" ? Keep up the nice work & posting further efforts.

Thanks so much, Pierre. I have not tried the other solo. I really should seek out some of his own albums though. Just a tasty player. Thanks again.

Not bad but quite far from Taylor. Perkins don't have Mick fine and inventive musicality.

If only I had the hair...hahaha. Well, if you mean what Ronnie plays currently on tour, thank you! But this is Wayne Perkins who would have been a great replacement for Mick Taylor. I listen to this vid now and I hear all the amazing color that Wayne has in his performance that I was not able to reproduce. Some of that due to his amp/guitar set-up vs mine, but in the end he is more expressive, imo. Thanks again for the praise!

@@haysfordays Mick Taylor was the man ! But I would have loved to see Wayne Perkins replace him instead of mail it in Wood !

@@richtranchida7927 hate to say it but I agree. It's funny, but it would have been strengthened the Jagger / Richards dominance. Although, word was Mick was threatened that Keith and Wayne were starting to write the songs. Who knows. Ronnie sounded great in the 70's...after that, not so much.
