Pete here it's been a hot minute since I played them I totally forgot that they roll 5 dice in melee
14:20 The odds of rolling 7 6s is about 3.57x10^(-6) which is pretty rare if im being honest. That means it happens about once every 280~ thousand rolls (of seven dice),

Thanks! we're glad you like it. They can be a little tricky since the are total glass cannon rouges. you've got to focus on hitting first and trying not to get hit back. Using the 3apl to move out of heavy cover, shoot and dash back can be really nice
this was epic. I have both of these teams and it was cool to see their interactions!

Been enjoying the content, guys! If you could work on your sound quality, that'd be a huge improvement. There's a slight echo and reverb in the room, you could try hanging up some towels, curtains, or sheets along the walls to help mitigate that. Also, recommend investing in some improved lighting for the battle map and dice tray. The light glare on the dice makes the numbers impossible to read at times. A simple light diffuser could help with that. Overall, keep making content and I'll keep watching, we need more quality Killteam content out there! I'd personally love to see more of the dark kin, I'm biased.

Very cool seeing both of the teams I own go head to head. I definitely think this matchup is awful for the HotA, and I'm not sure whether open helps or hurts them if I'm honest

I honestly think they handle open board just fine, they have high mobility if they need to snag a vantage point. can potentially abuse doors with 3APL, and have lots of long range threats. They're still great on ITD but things can get a little dangerous for them if the non-melee ops get into combat. But they're strong mobility is extra great in ITD. I guess my final take away is they like both lol.
6:24 So are you guys using the Chalnath door rules, but then adding in the 1" to either side Into the Dark hatchway rule?

The door rule isn't specific to Chalnath, its a universal rule (though you should verify terrain traits with your opponents to avoid confusion). No hatchway rules on open board, so the door plays as "always blocking LOS" but you can simply move through them so long as a part of your base passes through the doorway when doing so.

Like, I see it says even if your base wouldn't fit, but it doesn't allow the same "within 1" as long as part goes through" rule that hatchways allow, does it? Does this mean all the plasma radiators on Nachmund terrain becomes hazardous and all vantage points over 4" become Punishing Vantage Points on all terrain sets? If all terrain rules apply to all terrain, not just the set the rules are tied to?

@@ObsceneSuperMatt you can pass next to but your base cannot cross over any model. At that moment I made sure to announce that I am leaving some room for my friendly models to pass by and get through the door. The B-roll may have been a little deceptive of the models exact location. As for terrain rules, that's between you and your opponent. Check out the killzone register, it shows various suggestions of traits certain types of terrain features should have. Yes, you can use one of your pain tokens to do so. They are also good for +1 apl or what's basically CP reroll
what pieces were the lead player and the last player (skull aura)?

death jester cant move after shooting, because he is heavy, in case you have support grip, also cant do it.

The support grip, which Pete has, removes the heavy special rule. Now he can only move 6" total in an activation (moves + dashes combined). You can absolutely move, shoot, and dash in any order. And With fly you need not concern yourself with climbing coats
