Jason this is so well done. It really is doable. So many don't have the confidence to really give it a go. Now that I've got several flights with ours gear off...I don't think I'll ever put the gear back on. Incredible presentation Jason! I am pretty sure you covered everything except a common error. That is let the fans spool up a couple beats before tossing it so there is more available thrust. The older EDF's on the market required that or it ended badly.

Thats very true,And GREAT advice,I have been launching my V900 with safe on and my launches have been consistent.Before this my launches have been vey swuarrly and one resulted in a crash.But not anymore its been good ever since.And after launch I always turn safe off for unrestricted flight control.

I would love to try it because I want that speed!

Yes! A little bit with the gear installed, but it's quite a bit faster without the gear :)

Nice tutorial on the launch. That launch mode is quite innovative - it only keeps it going for a finite time period, unlike the Flex Pirana that keeps it until the sticks are touched. Due to winter, mine has not been flown yet. As for it being "fast", a little plane that has good thrust to weight will always look like it's going warp speed on a fly by. I'm not so sure that thing was going "100 mph", though. Since this plane has been out long enough for those not in the snow belt to have flown it lots, is the reason for this video due to reported "incidents" of launch mishaps? Further, "typical" 2.2, 4s LiPos tend to be bigger/heavier than your Spektrum ones, which are dimensionally smaller and lighter. All the ones I have require some battery compartment renos to make them fit and achieve the proper CG. A 1.8, 4S might be a better fit if not a Spektrum.

We've used a radar gun to clock it at almost 100 MPH coming out of a dive and almost 90 MPH in level flight without the gear (and over 80 MPH in level flight with the gear installed)! @@HorizonHobbyProducts Well, that's pretty impressive then. It was hard to tell in the video that it was going by that fast. I'll go over that video again. I just know that my ChinaHobbyLine, 70C, Turnigy Heavy Duty and Graphines, all 2200s, will not fit without some interior foam renos of battery bay and canopy. I wanted this plane but was not willing to buy more batteries, so I knew ahead of time what was needed to be done.

Is this the North Vegas field?

I have one but I don't have a paved runway. This would be usefull If my f14 was still in one piece😭😭😭
