IMO this is the best how to video for this puzzle. many others are out of focus, this is clear and the instruction to put it on the flat surface makes it a lot easier

If it's the Hanayama Devil's Claw Puzzle then you have to manipulate it until you get it exactly as in the start of the video. Hope this helps.
