Would've loved to see chewie go crazy in sum hand to hand combat with the Storm troopers, cuz in lore whenever a wookie uses their claws/fist it was usually when ever they got really angry and resorted back to their basic animal instincts and if it was ever done in a wookie village then the wookie would be outcasted because of them resorting to their animal instct but it usually was for a reason of them loosing a loved one and going absolute ape shit after

@@adamdover3868 there should be sum books and or comics with the wookie info but I found out thru a 2003 starwars game called knights of the old republic, it's kinda like a dnd rpg game with companions, one of the companions is a wookie who got banned frm Kashyk by going mad claw aka attacking his own brother with his claws and going crazy. Eventually u reach the planet of Kashyk and they explain it frm there. It's a great starwars game but old af, there's a remake of it that should hopefully be coming out soon and I recommend playing it for sure it was a great part of my child hood and made me love star wars even more

You can tell Chewie was holding back his shot, he could have easily gave Ren a fatal shot but a combination of knowing Han wouldn’t want it and likely still remembering the boy he watched grow up made a part of him still reluctant to do so

Instead of being selfish, he was selfless and wanted his son back, Even when he was stabbed, he still showed compassion. There isn't a better death for Han

Leia having to sit down when she feels Han's death through the Force is the saddest part for me. She's taken so many massive losses throughout her life and stood firm in the face of them to keep soldiering on, but this was just one loss too many.

@@edythebeast7087 yes. Han went from smuggler to general in the OG, and right back to a smuggler again in sequels. Luke went from a young scared boy to a Jedi, back to an old scared man. Leia was probably going to have some kind of arc, but rip. Everyone that died killed themselves except Phasma and Snoke... Luke over dosed on the force, Rey over dosed on the force but Kylo OD'd on the force to save her from over dosing.. Palpatine killed himself but he wanted to die so new canon is Rey is dead and palpatine is in her body. Sequels are a giant ass meme lol

The lightsaber stab is somehow more gruesome, violent and terrifying to me than any other lightsaber kill in Star Wars. Not getting dismembered or decapitated like Dooku, not getting cut in half like Maul, but a simple but powerful stab through the gut. And combined with the suspense and music, and the pain in everyone’s voices after Han dies, it really makes this scene terrifying and sad.

There's 3 trilogies in the Skywalker saga: original, prequel and sequel and I noticed they all have something in common: In each 1st film of the trilogy the main hero has some sort of mentor figure that gets killed by the main villain, as they witness that they scream in horror "no" For example: A New Hope: Luke witness Obi-Wan get killed by Darth Vader and yells no The Phantom Menace: Obi-Wan witness Qui-Gonn get killed by Darth Maul and yells no The Force Awakens: Rey witness Han Solo get killed by Kylo Ren and yells no. And this one without a doubt is the most shocking and heartbreaking

When I was watching this scene for the first time I was literally on the edge of my seat. I was relieved when I saw Ren give the lightsaber to Han and then... I was left completely speechless for the rest of the film. I was 7 years old and Han was one of my favorite characters from the franchise. A few years later a long distance relative of mine (I think she was my aunt) came over to visit us for a few days, star wars episode 8 had recently been released and she wanted to watch this movie before going to see the new one. We were all watching it in the living room and before this scene came up I had to leave because I couldn't dare to watch him die again. I could still hear the sound of the lightsaber and that was enough to make me cry.

I would definitely choose the light one.

The shock on Finn and Rey’s faces with Chewie’s cry is what made me sad in this scene. We literally skip it when watching it.

At first its half red and half light, as if he is teetering on the edge of the dark and light side, but you can physically see the dark side enveloping him as his face turns fully red right before he strikes down his father. Not a fan by any means of this money-milking trilogy, but this scene is solid

I love how Chewie is just like “rawr” mother fucker and shoots him in the ribs. Could have gone for the head but at the same time that’s like his nephew.

Chewie’s reaction broke me so much…that’s how I felt when Padme died.

I never noticed that Kylos expression goes from pain to what appears to be shock that Chewie shot him.

I remember crying when watching The Force Awakens in the cinema and saw this scene happen . I hugged my bag even tighter and my tears kept dripping down from my eyes to my face and on the bag , wetting part of it .

Chewie Is A Total Badass

My version of this scene? Chewie roars so long, loud and with such horrific ferocity that everyone freezes in terror, Kylo included. His eyes turn black, and we get to finally see a Wookie let loose.. He becomes an unstoppable monster, just tearing everyone to pieces. It’s the ‘hallway’ Vader scene he and honestly Han deserved.

Episode 7 minus the overused Death Star subplot was actually pretty good. It set up a bunch of interesting plotlines for the series to branch off of. And it handled emotional scenes like this fairly well. Han Solo’s death was pretty amazing back in 2015; now it just feels pointless.

The Sequels were bad, but I watched this in Theaters, and the loud ass noise of his lightsaber igniting, the room illuminated red, and I saw Han with a lightsaber through his chest, that just caught me off guard. I really didn’t see it coming, and it startled me more than most horror movies. I thought an OG like Han Solo would’ve been given plot armor, not killed like that. Either way it was shocking, and one of the few things the Sequels did good.

Back in 2015 I was sitting in the theater knowing it wasn't going to end well when Han went out on the bridge. 😕 Even then, I didn't usually shed tears over fictional deaths, but something about a father getting lured in and murdered by his mentally unstable adult kid who he was trying to help really got me emotionally. It felt unnatural and twisted, yet it also made me curious about just wtf was wrong with this new villain and how dangerous he might become to the other heroes, if he could do this to his own parent all for some weird goal of appeasing this mysterious Supreme Leader character and pushing himself further into the darkness. The creepy vibes that Kylo gave off during his interactions with Rey also made me dread what he might do in the future, after she rejected him and sliced his face open. I thought he'd return with more dark side training and a huge chip on his shoulder, and really fuck things up. ... Yeah, I didn't like how the rest of the trilogy watered the whole situation down. They basically went "Kylo did nothing wrong, he just needed a nice girl to show him the power of -boners- uh I mean love, now all of his mental/personality issues are cured" and called it a day 🤦‍♀️

It would serve as a preface for my perspective and more of a primer so that when I go to talk about something you will have reference material for what I'm talking about. I am imagine that you have watched plenty of anti sequel trilogy films already. These two videos that I am thinking about are a total of 40 minutes. The first one is around 8 minutes and the second is around 30 minutes and I think you would like them because they also include content from Star wars theory. So what do you say, would this be something that would interest you? Because all you have to lose is that you already hate it right? But think of what you could gain. Wouldn't it be nice to actually see the sequel trilogy in a different light that could really perhaps not resonate with you per se, but instead, give you a new appreciation for it, isn't that worth 40 minutes of your time?

@@cerebrophage7709 Unexpected update: Have you heard about that recent interview in which Adam Driver confirmed the character's redemption was not even a planned thing? Yeah... When they made TFA, the intention was for Kylo to be a reverse Vader (something Abrams himself even said at some point IIRC). He was going to become a progressively darker villain throughout the trilogy, not whatever he ended up turning into. 😭

@methraccoon I did and I'll say the sans thing I've said Arnott such things. Revisions happen. That's part of the movie making process. You can have one idea going in and then better ideas come to light and you go with that. Criticizing a creative team for making revisions, is the sans vibe as getting mad at an artist for using an eraser or even staring over. They really aren't a failure. Business don't survive on bad decisions. Disney recognizes when something isn't popular. Think about this: Lucasfilm, under KK is about to release another new show, a 4th season of mando, a rey movie and some other things, too. While the rest of us enjoy all the stuff coming through KK, you can go ahead and pout all you like, hating is a choice. Fans are enjoying it just fine and will continue to do so.

The best part of the film, principally because it's just about the ONLY original thing in the story to distinguish it from New Hope!

If Kylo had lightsaber and blaster proof armor and shield like Captain Phasma did it would have deflected the shot that Chewbacca inflicted and won the lightsaber battle against Rey in StarKiller base

i almost cried at this scene.

Every single Disney Starwars film: "lets use red or blue on their faces to show how good or evil they are in that scene" "Fuck yeah, dude, that's deep"

Tbh it is really sad when chewie reacts to Leia and Han but it's nowhere near as sad when you think about how the whole jedi order and peace had to hide and be stalled for so long because the "chosen one" anakin wasn't the jedis chosen one he was the siths

say what you wan't about the movie or the sequels but this scene is a masterpiece and it's symbolic the blue light on han side represents the light side , hope and shows that kylo has doubts , that he's confused, shatered betwen anger and regrets the red light on kylo side represents the dark side it means that there's no hope that it's over and when kylo gets closer to han the blue light disapears showing that the atempt to bring ben back isn't possible anymore and then kylo kills han and the music IS great as well

Out of Rogue One, Solo, 7, 8 and 9 this and the Darth Vader hallway scene have to be the best ones by far
