I have that ceiling fan in my parents bathroom.

I love this fan! I just dont like how the capacitor can catch fire easily.

While I share the common disdain for these fans(despite one being my first fan) that is completely false, just a silly rumor started by some collector just to crap on these fans, while terrible, they aren’t on that level. A fire hazard would IMMEDIATELY be reported and Hampton Bay would issue a recall, which if you google, does not exist. All things considered, these are not as bad as people say they are.

Yeah, I once believed in them myself, but later found that ceiling fans don’t cause fire hazards unless you wire them incorrectly or something like that.

@@FANtasticFans82 exactly. if the capacitor was an actual fire hazard and could catch fire, it would be a problem for most other hampton bay fans from the time range in which the midili was produced. it's such a silly and stupid rumor, because if it was true, then literally any other hampton bay would be a fire hazard.
