Ya gotta love how he gets the audience into it. My guess is most of the audience didn't grow up listening to this music so he's doing something special to get them moving and grooving.

he did both...but because it is improvisational...SINGING the BLUES...Blues has words....its jazz...he also did blues...cause he was nice like that...that is why Kenny G is NOT a real jazz musician...because his stuff is recorded and played note by note...a little lesson...those slaves created something good with that call and response in the fields...
