This was actually an excellent explanation of a few techniques to playing walking bass lines, but I recommend earbuds to hear better what he is playing.
Thank you for making this video! It was helpful!
Superb lesson... can’t wait to try this
That’s a beautiful machine
Thanks so much for sharing this video 🎹👍🏻🎹 Best regards
Great lesson, Many thanks!!!
Awesome man
Nice
Hey folks, make sure you have good base response on whatever you’re listening to. A lot of speaker devices are not very good and cell phones are terrible. This is base you got to be able to hear the low range and if your speakers assembly doesn’t do it well, you’re not gonna hear it whether he turns it up more and more. Great stuff! Thanks.

I love Hammond organs so much, they are no other instruments that come close to these. such iconic organs. I know this is a weired question but can someone please describe to me a few things. Do Hammond organ (tonewheel models) smell like anything? if so, what? do they have a keyboard cover like a piano? thank you.

Yes they have a smell! Think a cross between hot sewing machine oil and the electrical smell of an old O-Gauge model railroad locomotive and transformer when the wheels arc on the tracks. It wafts up through the keys, but only when the organ motor has run for awhile. Yes they come with foldable covers but the rock & rollers typically pulled those off.
Nice lesson but would have loved to see the right hand in action as well.
I just started listening to this video and so far I can hear your voice very clearly, but once you start playing the walking bass line the notes are hard to hear. I will continue to watch to see if it improves.

It will not improve unless you use a good listening system, unfortunately. The bass on organ doesn't have the same high-frequency content that a bass guitar or synth bass can, so you will need good speakers or headphones to make good use of this lesson and its siblings. Typical computer speakers will not do the job.

Robert Kennedy Hey Robert : This was great: I assume these are not the exact same paid lessons that are on the piano Groove Website? I would think those are more in detail in which case I might consider subscribing .

Charles Telerant I'm not sure, but piano groove does have a lot of good free videos. You might want to check out "Walk that bass" on you tube. Very good teacher that is free and also provides free written material that goes over same information on the video.

@@WyattLite-n-inn This video is exactly as it appears on the PianoGroove site; nothing is omitted here. There are many more of them there that don't appear here on KZread. As a PianoGroove subscriber you would get to watch it with a viewer that, IMO, is better suited to lessons than KZread, but the content is the same.

Robert Kennedy Thanks Robert . Are there any organ ones on there that don’t appear here though?

I have to agree, we cant hear those lower notes. Crank it up a bit please.
The music is very low.
Could ALMOST HEAR the bass on the Hammond..... Need to fix …. needs more volume (amplitude) and a re-do...
Seems a joke i'm a classical pianist never Saw such writing for bass line !!! Useless!!!
