Very interesting. But what would be the best hardware setup to create the two manuals adequately? Audio interfaces, midi interfaces, requirement computers...?

I think the rotary effect is very good on this and the app is well worth the price but I'm wondering if there is a way to bypass the rotary amp, cabinet and spin to just use the raw organ mono output into a real physical rotary if the need arises.

The Hammond B-3X software offers a "Cabs" page with a "Mixer" which allows you to send and control the level of the sound from the D.I (No Leslie/Hammond or amplifier) signal, the Leslie output, and a side-chained guitar amplifier. If needed, only the D.I signal can be run out to your physical rotary speaker.

Cool concept though I'd want 61 note controllers to match the 61 notes of the organ. Those keyboard have 48 keys. Cheap solution to a dual manual though. Add a volume pedal and pedal board and you'd have a complete set up.

I agree. What’s the process to connect two keyboards in a dual manual way?

Jorge Latorre pick up Sampletank 4 for PC or Mac. It is loaded with incredible acoustic and electric piano VSTs, as well as hundreds more outstanding sounds! I have to say IK’s stuff ROCKS! I’ve been using there sound modules for both PC and IOS for many years. You won’t regret the purchase.

I'm sure there are plenty of good imitations of the piano out there, while the Hammond organ has proven more inimitable. I'd like them to do the Novachord for their next trick - and add the chorus tone generator to this one.

When is that coming out for iPad?

Guido Lizzi it’s in the App Store right now, for the iPad. It’s the most expensive individual instrument App I’ve seen to date for an iPad at $99.99. I have been waiting a long time for a good Hammond App for the iPad. I have the original Galileo Organ, which is far better than the pitiful update to Galileo 2. Through endless tweaking I have managed an acceptable organ sound from the original Galileo. But, it’s certainly no B3, by any stretch. But, as much as I want to leap at this, I’m a patient man. I want to hear more videos. And see more feedback here on KZread or in the form of written reviews of potential glitches with this freshman release of the product. I have many other great sounds I’m very happy with on my iPad. A good Hammond sound and experience was really the main thing I’ve been missing. It is a very steep price for an iPad App.

TheIvoryman Yes I know! I just found out yesterday when they issued the video here. I bought it right away. I know it’s an expensive app. But it does deliver something a very good Hammond tone. I’d say it does compete with Hammond SK or Nord. For the price, if you like playing organ, then you get a very expensive sound at a good price (for what you get).

Guido Lizzi thanks so much for the reply. I appreciate your input. Being such a recent release, and having a relatively high price, there are very few reviews of this product, to date. But, every review I’ve read and video I have seen says this is a 5 star winner.

TheIvoryman There’s this guy on KZread, he has a Hammond B3 and a Leaslie speaker. He made 2 or 3 vids comparing the Hammond B3+Leaslie speaker to the iPad Hammond B-3X, played through a Samson Carbon and a KORG Microkey controller. You’ll be hard pressed to tell the difference, I bet. If I closed my eyes, I couldn’t tell when he was playing one or the other. Nothing ever came even close to this app.

Guido Lizzi I have seen one of his videos. It is remarkable! Even though expensive, the price of this organ (just as anything I purchase) doesn’t bother me, as long as it delivers on its claims. The main reason I have been waiting to purchase, is to see if there are any issues that need to be shaken out in this initial release. And, so far, I haven’t heard of any problems. So, I’m sure I will be getting this App soon.
