Thanks a lot for this one Jason. I got my cuben tarp earlier this spring and have been looking for a good way to manage the doors. This seems like a great way to be able to quickly deploy the doors (something I wish I'd had with me last weekend!). I know this wasn't your creation but thank you for taking the time to film and post the video.

np. the only downside i see doing this is it may eventually put tension on the stitching where the guy out points are. I could be wrong. I haven't used mine outside yet. So we shall see. But HG had posted this on their facebook so they must think it will be fine.

I was excited to give this a shot so I ran to WalMart after work last night and picked up some paracord clips (used for making paracord bracelets) and headed out to the old R&D location. It only took a few minutes fighting with the bugs to get this all rigged up and I've got to say... it... is... SLICK! Also, so far as wear and tear on the seams, I recall reading a forum post over on HammockForums from Shug where he said the owner of HammockGear told him to "crank 'er down tight" when setting up the CF tarp. I think the tarp is much stronger than it's delicate demeanor would have us believe.

Awesome, Thank you. I just got back from an AT section hike of the Roan Highlands. It's a must do. Will Wood aka Red Beard and David Gray both have great youtube videos of the section. I'll be doing it again, it was that good. We did the David Gray route Northbound from Indian Grave Gap to US 19 at the Mountain Harbour Hostel. There are shuttles available from MTN Harbour or from uncle Johnnys in Erwin depending on which direction you want to hike etc. Everything you need to plan it is in the AWOL guide and by watching the mentioned videos.

I put my ridge line under my tarp, but I see you have it over - I will give that a try. I don't know why I put it under, I think I felt like this would keep it more taut but I guess that's not necessary true or even a relevant factor. Anyway, thanks for the videos and feedback. Tarp talk, always fun.
