Hello again with a new video! I picked up “Alexander Hamilton’s Guide To Life” written by Jeff Wisler and I gotta say - if you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it. (Not only did I learn a lot, it was hilariously written as well. Like a condensed, humorous version of Ron Chernow's biography.) Alexander wrote deceiving (i.e.: “Don’t hurry about coming home from your father’s, take your time!”) letters to Eliza while he was engaging in an affair with Maria Reynolds. Eliza also took the old parchment from Alexander’s love poems and actually stitched them together to make a little pouch necklace. I assume that she did this after Hamilton died, seeing as how there was no factual recording of Eliza burning letters in reaction to the Reynolds pamphlet, but I decided to take some artistic liberty by having her burn it here in addition to all of the leftover letters she had stored away. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, am I right?

Is it just me or is the line "you forfeit the place in our bed, you can sleep in your office instead" the saddest line of the song? I mean think about it; the whole reason he cheated on Eliza in the first place was because work kept him weak and busy and he had no time for family or love so by cheating on Eliza he forfeited his place in his family, their "bed", and he can have his job to keep him company from them on out, "sleep in his office". It's pretty deep if you ask me

I just noticed: Eliza references herself in the third person. People with anxiety, depression, or PTSD, sometime do a thing called disassociating, where they mentally detach their mind from their body so their mind doesn't go through the trauma. although i love first burn, i think this version was smarter to keep in the musical. in first burn eliza was mostly mad and didn’t have many vulnerable sad moments, where as burn was more in her innocent, sweet nature. she was so hurt in this song and had only a few moments of anger, which all faded into a sadness. burn captured eliza’s true nature and heart a lot better

this is so different compared to a lot of others ive seen (and while i love all of the others) this is 100% my favorite omg Eliza is so pure and I love her so much. Tbh tho i wonder if she ever regrets burning the letters? Like yeah there's no real proof that she burnt them, but say she did, or say the lack of all of her letters was because she chose to hide it from history, do you think she'd have regretted it? (lmao now I'm just talking but seeing this animatic made me think this so yea.)
