As a former US Infantry man, I must say that I am impressed with the tactics use by the Resistance. They first lure soldiers into a tunnel and/or house knowing that after the attack the survivors will ask for help, they anticipate that another group of soldiers would be sent to retrieve the survivors, with this knowledge the Resistance puts explosives on the path the rescuers would use to get to the wounded soldiers, and that's when the rescuers will be hit. 312 soldiers is a lie - casualties are in the 1000s per Haaretz.

Usually a ratio of 3 wounded to 1 dead. That is a rough calculation and can vary, but wounded is nearly always much higher, than dead.

The math isnt right. 311 infantryman leads to an overall shortage. How many troops do they have in total 1500?

Surely, they can recruit from India, as they did for farm labourers and construction site workers. No shortage there.

I am all for and end to this war. However please give out correct information. Israel has raised the age for reservist from 40 to 41. So many comments on here are just filled with hate. What is wrong with people. I hope we can all live in peace for our children’s sake.

It is a fallacy that Israel is short of troops. They have committed fewer troops and more technology into the conflict. They are turning over troops and having adequate tactical pauses. For tunnel warfare scenarios, they are more than adequately prepared as their casuality rates after 8 months is negligible in comparative terms to others. They have learnt from precedent wars and have adapted and refined their " modern" procedures. They are still pulling their punches rather than using full force. This probably is the first Global counterinsurgency where Israel is carrying out operations after issuing ' calling cards" and still maintaining feasible success.

That means that IDF have been sustaining huge casualties.
