Ghulam Mohammad is a visual artist, born in Kachi in Baluchistan Pakistan. He graduated on Scholarship of UMISA in B. FA from the Beaconhouse National University Lahore with a distinction in 2013. During his student days, he was selected for Inspire Trip to University of Central Lancashire (student exchange program under British Council). He has several group and solo exhibitions to his credit. In his work he explores the relationship between language and identity in a cultural, historical & contemporary context. His works are intricate collages of paper cuttings of Urdu text from old discarded books and other local scripts pasted on Wasli -paper; sometimes hand written text with an embellishment of gold and silver leaf and Iranian ink. Currently, he is teaching as an Assistant Professor in Fine Arts Department at Beaconhouse National University Lahore. He has done an artist residency in a UAE Art Hub and Sanat Karachi Pakistan. In 2015 he won the Young emerging Artist Prize from Lahore Literary Festival. He is the first Pakistani artist who won ‘Jameel Art Prize ‘4’ from Victoria and Albert Museum London (2016). He was the judge for Bahrain Annual Fine Art Exhibition in Bahrain January, 2017. In 2018 he was a jury member of Jameel Art Prize ‘5’ at Victoria & Albert Museum
