To any aspiring HAM studying for the Texhnician test , look no further ! Josh has mastered the art of guiding one through this test prep process . Watch his prep modules twice all the way through , as needed for those modules you struggle with on practice tests , YOU WILL PASS!

Just wanted to say thanks for the great video service. I was a former ham, radio operator, who had a situation arise where I stepped away and allowed my license, expire past the 2 year mark so I am studying to get my ticket. Again thanks for the info and the help I appreciate it 73.S
Enjoying the updated course. Next one, you might consider reversing the screens. Make you smaller, and the text bigger for those of us watching on a cell phone, not a big computer screen. Hard to read tiny print. .😊

I just passed my Technician Exam about 3 hours ago! Thanks for the information and study help Josh! 👍 😅
Thanks Josh for the video sub element videos, I watched all 10 you make it very easy to understand everything about passing the test and getting a license. Keep up the great work I enjoy your channel.
Thanks for your work, walking us through this and getting us noobs up to speed. We appreciate it.
Used this to supplement another course and passed with several questions to spare after spending a little over a week studying. Thanks for all the information! Looking forward to really get this hobby going and making my first contacts.
Okay so I really suck at studying from lectures and textbooks. I have wanted a license for a while now but I gave up on it because every time I saw the training books I already felt exhausted, they looked so tedious to read through. Then would see people on youtube producing lectures with slides that look like they were made in 1995 with dudes speaking at a snails pace and I'd get bored in 1 minute in. I started to think that maybe I wasnt cut out for HAM but in these videos your production quality is captivating, you're covering all the most essential information and you're keeping it interesting....maybe I will get my license.
Thanks for doing this series. It helped me pass my technicians exam 20 minutes ago! I actually heard your voice in my head on some of the questions. Thanks for enriching the radio community with your efforts.
This video is great companion to the Ham Study app. 👍 I got my GMRS license last month and am now learning what I can about HAM to get at least my General. Thanks for the great info! 👏
Thank you so much for these instructional videos. I've decided to get a technician's license and taking these questions 20 at a time has helped me on the ARRL practice tests, little by slow. Thanks again, you're doing great work.
I started down this rabbit hole with my gmrs license a few years ago. A friend of mine talks to me about what he does with his radios, and always had me interested. So now, here I am, practicing for my exam. Thank you for all the info you give out. Great content! I subbed pretty quick.
Passed my technician exam today thanks to your videos. It was super easy, I should have done it years ago. Thank you!! General exam next!

I'm new to HAM radio, but studying for the technician license. Thank you for the information, I will be going through all of your videos.
Haven't taken my technician test yet, but have been getting nearly 100% on all the hamstudy practice tests that I've been taking. Watching your videos gave the last bit of motivation I needed to really get into studying the material. Thank you
This defiantly helps clear some things up. Thank you.
I took this practice test yesterday! I got a 92%. Missed the first question out of the gate. Many of these tests have their own style and that is figured out in the first couple of questions. Great content for a newbie! Thanks!

Updated! Thanks Josh!
Your really good at your diagrams, various connections across the globe and I love it. Teach high school lol 😂
I appreciate this video, thanks
great study tactic for multiple choice test: focus on the correct answer.
I used ham study to prepare for my test, and could not recommend a better way to prepare. Nothing prepares you for the 6 faces looking at you but the questions are the exact same:)
Thanks for this series and this format. I wish you had the same thing for general. I am a truck driver and have done all my learning while driving or listening before sleeping (can’t watch). I am unable to do the same with your General course. Super thanks for these though.

Awesome videos, Thx.. I was told by several people that the Tech License was only a 35 question test, well it looks like they were wrong, man I'm starting to think that the FCC does not want anyone to get a license as this is a lot of information to try and remember for a test.

Good Stuff...working on getting my technician license...where do you get the frequency charts you display in these videos?
Hay Josh thanks for the help. I passed my Technician's test this morning 33/35 correct!
So when will you do this for the General pool? (REALLY appreciate this btw!)
Thank you for your work! This has been helpful but I have a question- So say that I'm the license holder but I'm knocked unconscious in an emergency situation and a member of my family is otherwise unable to call for help- if one of them picks up my radio and says "This is of who is unconscious we need help". The radio doesn't have the license, I do but I'm unable to speak on the radio and it's clearly an emergency. What are the consequences of that?
Interesting. Some things are similar to how things are in europe, some are different.
Thanks!

Oddly enough with Bravo08 I listen to our local police chatter from car to dispatch. A lot of fun, but I usually unselect the option for my boafeng to accidentally press the button to send a transmission to them lol.
quick observation sir - we missed the answer to T1F11 I am sure the answer will come up in the future
There are a lot of elderly operators like my dad, that couldn't even use an email or would even consider getting an email.

Hello I have a question I am am Expat temporary living in Mexico but also going to the USA frequently could I apply for my technician license. I will appreciate some information thank you also love your video!!!
Can you do a set of these for getting general?
Big Fan here (GMRS) I do have my appointment on the 20th of APRIL,23 for my technician license exam. So, do I need to study only SUB ELEMENT T1 ? from T1A01 to T1F11 until page #9? I been crushing my head reading all the 60 pages but can get them all. I will appreciated any input, your video is amazing thank you very much it really help me to understand better and more clearly the Q&A's

All the sub elements. Check out the playlist. There is a video that gives and intro and another that explains the testing process.
T1 - F11 Just remember a club must have at least four members to get a club station license grant. You can still have a club with three members, you just won't get a club station license until you get that fourth member.
At 13:55 you mentioned solar cycle 21 peaking in 2025. Did you mean to say solar cycle 25 because that has actually been changed and now is forecasted for late 2023. Or did you mean something else?
Great video. Is that
Do you have to program a repeater into BOTH radios trying to communicate?
Got a quick question for you you are actually telling us the answers to the test and you were telling us which choice or letter as an A through d So when you say the answer is B does that mean it is going to actually be B
Thanks for your information. I have the technician license. I would like to find a group to practice. If you know a group or a club of amateur radio operators, please let me know.
Where are we supposed to make an account with the FCC?
The Canadian license is good for life ...
Great presentation Josh. Question, is Logging mandatory? Is there just a general log you can keep, when your just broadcasting for fun? I have seen some licensed people state they don't keep a log to turn into the FCC database? Please explain if you would sir...
@HamRadioCrashCourse

You are not required to maintain a log. However you can for your own personal accomplishments in long distance contacts. Generally HF contacts are of most interest. We use paper, and electronic logging in most cases. I have some videos on the topic.

45:44 Question: So if you could use a button that plays your call sign in CW to fulfill the FCC requirement of announcing call sign at end of/every 10 minutes how would the other HAM on the receiving end know what it says if they aren’t proficient on CW while doing a POTA or SOTA? Do some radios have a CW decoder? Thanks

Josh... hi..! I got my Tech License back in 2016..... It's going to expire in March of 2026.... Can I renew that License or do I have to take another exam and go up to the next level.....? I'm retired now and living on a fixed income so $$ is rather tight..... =)
@HamRadioCrashCourse

You just renew it via the FCC FRN website on the last year.
F08 : I didn't think that your example sounded correct. So I looked it up : "(47) Third party communications. A message from the control operator (first party) of an amateur station to another amateur station control operator (second party) on behalf of another person (third party)." Unless I am misunderstanding that sentence, it is basically saying HAM to HAM passing a message for someone else. And I would assume that it would be from a non-HAM to a non-HAM but message passed between two HAMs. Though, if you are the control operator, a message directly from another person speaking, I assume would be the same category. But I think that you are putting yourself as more risk, as you are responsible for anything they said.
