Ingredients and Measurements:
For the milk mixture:
1 cup brown Demerara sugar (if you want it super sweet then use 1.5 cups)
1 cup hot water
2.5 cups of milk (you can use evaporated, whole, 2%, plant milks, or coconut milk)
1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries with juice
For the halwa:
1.5 cups Sooji/Suji (you can replace with cream of wheat)
3/4 cup ghee
1 tsp. ground elychee
1 cinnamon stick broken
milk mixture (see above)- only add it in in increments so it can absorb
