She is an incredible songwriter like Ellie Goulding, Lorde, Lana Del Rey.

This is pure artistry. A rare moment in time when art and beauty coalesce into something worth seeing.

She's a natural performer. You can tell how performative she is from how her facial expression, body language, bit of dance moves complement her song. It also reveals her confidence and she was at ease. That's what you wanna see from a performer. You can't take your eyes off her in this VC show. At the same time this song goes really well with the walk and the vibe!

She's lipsyncing here. Halsey is amazing, and really can sing. But all the artists at VS show Lip sync, not by their choice. EDIT 8 MONTHS AFTER- guys, I am not hating on Halsey, as I said she really has a great voice. I am a musician and sound engineer and I worked on many live events, along with studio recordings. I know what I'm talking about. They pre-recorded the track (this version is slightly different that the studio one, the tempo, the number of times the chorus is repeated) specifically for the VS show, and yes, they skipped the swear word, and she rehearsed this specific version as to make it appear as natural as possible. They do leave the microphone open so the artist can "breathe" into it to give and even sometimes add embellishments during choruses etc. On top of that, there are sound effects on her mic, possibly a slight amount of auto tune. But this was lip synced. And there's nothing wrong with it. Bruno Mars sang live at the VS for example, but Gaga did not (and let's face it, Gaga is AMAZING and would have had zero problems singing live), it's just a matter of logistical issues. It's not uncommon in televised shows where the singer is not the main even (like here) and it doesn't take away anything from the artist's talent. As for the comment about "live" band DVDs, that's a different situation: the recordings of the concert are edited and perfected in studio before the DVD gets released.

BessDavies she’s not lip-syncing. You can see the difference of lip-syncing and live. She somewhat sang together witth the audio, but her live voice is much louder than the audio.

I'm a guy, the models are hot but we don't watch these runways. I listen to this version of the song more than the original. Most singers sound totally different live but Halsey sounds just like she is in the studio. Again the models are attractive but Halsey owned that runway. With her looks, the way she walked around (as you mentioned), and her voice!! She is by far my favorite female artist.

They do two takes of every performance and splice them together, so she has to make sure that everything matches up. (But she's definitely singing over canned vocals in the chorus). I love her music and I am not undermining her singing prowess by saying this. Everyone does this.

What you are calling “autotune” is actually reverb and pitch correction. Autotune is a program that actually changes a person’s voice. Autotune became popular because of T-pain and now everyone is an autotune expert😂😂😂
