+Annie Park New Americana is more of an anthem speaking out to the new generation of people (us) that are very diverse from the stereotypical adults that view them as savages and too different to live in this world. It tells a story of how a girl isn't afraid to be herself and who can be who she wants to be, as then it speaks about James Dean who portrays as someone who is gay and is being turned down because of being gay. These two stories represent how teenagers are today, and Halsey puts together a song to voice out that we shouldn't be afraid of being different, and we are just a new, diverse generation (NEW AMERICANA).

Still one of my favourite songs ever. It's one of those songs that transports you somewhere else because the lyrics are like a story. Love love love.

Yes and their styles are both different, but if they made a song together it would sound well because of Melanie's high bittersweet voice and Lana's low, smooth voice.

I legit thought hurricane Harvey was called hurricane halsey and I was so confused

I remember being 14 and listening to this song and wishing that I could do everything that these kids were doing in the video it's very nostalgic now that I'm 24 but I can' say that I did pretty much everything in this video a few years later.

tomorrow's my 19th birthday here to listen to it one more time while I'm still 18 :,)
