Good review Paul. The unit has some nice features but like you say, a button or similar, to lock important files would be very useful. I look forward to seeing a real life demo of it actually fixed to the van and towing it at motorway speeds.

Presentation: Fine, I'm sure it will only get better. Product: I have reservations, magents don't work very well on aluminium or plastic, but it was nice to see that the rear view camera was not a wide angle one which is more suited to reversing. Good Luck

It includes stick on or screw on metal plates for non metal surfaces . 2/10 for attention so I am afraid its a detention for you after school

@@tank8078 A fair point, but screwing into a panel introduces leaks and trying to stick on a dimpled/ribbed panel may be difficult too. I have a wireless one fitted inside the van which looks through the back window. I appreciate that not everyone has a back window either ;)

@@nickdarcy8636 I understand the reluctance to screw it on but the 3M sticky will work on its own on a flat surface but I also understand the worry of hanging something so expensive on it

Great vlog and really pleased you demoed it with the possible shortfalls. Cant wait until you fit it to your van, so we can see how it operates with a caravan at the rear. I've been looking for the past couple of years for a recordable unit. Well Done 👍👍

Good review,. I like the idea of it and I personally don't think it's expensive for what it is. I still think they could make the design of the rear camera a bit nicer, however, it looks bomb proof. Interested how it works on a caravan. I;m assuming the 3M sticks to the caravan and the camera is held in place by magnet?

Indeed it isn't exactly "low-profile"! It does need to house a substantial battery though I suppose. And yes, you stick the metal plates to the caravan to provide the magnetic base for the camera to attach to.

Can you hardwire the camera?

Has the van arrived yet ? Being concerned at the 33’ line of sight I look forward to seeing in action.

Very good video, and thanks for the detail. I'm going to get this unit based on your excellent description. So ... I'm just curious if you had your "step counting" watch on your wrist when you went for the stroll. Did your wife wonder where you were or is she like my wife who has a 3 hour time window before she asks the dogs if they know where I am hiding?

Yes it comes with a proper UK plug.

Paul could you do a techy vlog on battery chargers..there’s a huge price difference? Why? Which is best value? Cheers.
