I know, Tim. I think we were so busy eating and visiting that I forgot to include photos. The food was excellent and no complaints on that front.

Hi there! Thanks for posting your video! I am planning on a 2D1N on the Orchid Classic Cruise and debating on whether to go on the one to Ha Long Bay or Lan Ha Bay. What is your recommendaton?

We only went on the Ha Long Bay cruise so I can't make a recommendation, but we really enjoyed our cruise and I think you can't go wrong on either. Thanks for the comment.

Is that a Terrace Suite or Premium Terrace Suite? Would be nice to see the different between all three cabin types on the boat.

What's the cause of the air pollution? Is there a major city nearby? Manufacturing? Fallout from China?

Good question. I think a lot of it must come from China. Halong city is right there but I didn't see any major manufacturing. Plus, there are literally millions of motor bikes in Vietnam.

I don't know where you bought your tickets, but we just booked that same cruise, including transfers for a 3rd of what you paid..

Did a 3D/2N on another five-star line. $770 for two/$590 solo. Food was okay, but small portions. In short, save your money and take a day cruise instead. Halong Bay is worth seeing, but it's tremendously overcrowded, We were accompanied by 17 to 18 ships everywhere and everyone does activities like kayaking or beach visits at the same time. Rather a nightmare. I did a 3-day cruise thinking Lan Ha Bay might be quieter, but, it isn't. Don't pay extra to see Lan Ha as its indistinguishable from Halong in every way! Disappointing! One other thing: calling this a "cruise" is misleading. With the exception of taking on new passengers or getting rid of others, the boats are never underway. I estimate of the entire 3D/2N voyage, we were actually moving for less than 30 minutes total.

You mention one important thing: the need to clean up the pollutants in the sea. Greed is one factor, it costs money for the clean-up and the VN cruise organizers don't want to do it. Second, some Vietnamese still have bad habits of littering, not realizing tourism is a major economy for the country. Third, the pollutant debris we see in the ocean could come from other countries as well. One clip on KZread showed pollutants drifting from our USA to a small island in Japan. It's not an exaggeration since they showed evidence that this debris came from the USA. Ocean pollution is the fault of many countries, and we have to be aware of that. Yes, this cruise is expensive. My sister was on a cruise in the USA, off the coast of California costing a few hundred dollars for five days. However, her room was not as luxurious as yours showed in this clip. It was small without a balcony, enough for 2 twin beds and a crampy bathroom. Foodwise, abundant food but no crabs or lobsters.
