I might be able to help. First of all, you won't do well if you have any mobility issues. Only one ship I'm aware of has an elevator and all have three or four decks. Secondly, you will NOT find a ship in Ha Long or Lan Ha Bays that is NOT going to be partying into the night! Perhaps the cruises in other parts of the area, which claim to be quieter, would be more suitable. As far as "cruise," that's a misnomer. I was on a 3D/2N in November, 2022 and the boats only move after picking up or dropping off passengers. I'd estimate we were underway for less than 30 minutes during the entire "voyage" (quotes intended.) As there's no "breeze over the bow," air conditioning is a must. In short, and to sum up, by all means see Ha Long Bay (Lan Ha's identical, so ...), but, if I was doing it over again, I'd take a day cruise only and be done. The video is a bit misleading. Ha Long/Lan Ha is severely overcrowded (we had 17 to 18 vessels that accompanied us everywhere) and, due to oppressive afternoon heat, everyone does activities like kayaking/bamboo boat, village and/or beach visits at the same time every morning. It's like rush hour traffic! FYI: my cruise was $490 single/$770 couple.
