Well question is: In what context is it destroyed? Yeah, it's combat ineffective, and likely incapable of any other function (like even the basic flight), but has it blown up into 1000s of pieces? I would guess probably not, and it merely crash-landed onto the ring, now heavily damaged. And at the very least, it would be in serious need of repairs before it could do anything. Damaged and indefinitely disabled if you will.

If it would have crashed like the Pillar of Autumn, it would most likely to used as main operating base for UNSC Operations on Zeta Halo, or split in half, the Banished would modify some sections into a Fortress or an outpost. Like the POA on Halo 04 after she crashed, the surviving command crew were taken hostage and other marines were scattered but the ship itself was abandoned with minor power still active. Then later gets occupied by the Sentinels, Flood and Covenant Spec Ops teams. If the Infinity went down the same way with heavy damage the ship itself would be suitable as a static or unflyable colony. As it merges with the Zeta's materials like the Mortal Reverie has become and the frigate behind that has fatally crash on impact, in which we can't tell it was the same wreckage from the same ship. I just hope that she's out there somewhere perhaps in the next segment of Halo Infinite's DLC Campaign. Just imagine walking among the wreckage and inside her hanger bay like from StarWars when Ray scavenges a crash Star Destroyer.

That audio log with the banished army marching to the Reverie was awesome it sounded like something out of lord of the rings.

@@un1versalI the best it seems you'll get is the halo novel Rubicon Protocol but it's not from the bainsheds point of viewpoint. The survivors of the crash and main characters of the book rally and hold up there. They got decimated to think around 50 Spartans were lost in the battle. Makes me sad asf 😭 I love Spartans

I think the whole opening was a missed opportunity. It could have been a Pillar of Autumn parallel where you fight off the Banished while trying to evacuate Infinity. We could have met Fireteam Taurus as Chief did in the logs, and it would have made finding them dead more impactful

Honestly I still kinda wish Halo Infinite was a 4-way Battle on Zeta Halo between the UNSC and the Swords of Sanghelios VS the Banished and Endless FULL army VS The Created, with setup for a Flood return down the line.

Kinda like planetside. A multiplayer with halo like planetside would be amazing. I've thought about it a lot only having a 3 way conflict. the human sangheili alliance then the endless and banished and I'd love to see a covenant remnant based around the Prophets. As of right now the Prophets are looking for a gene forge so they can repopulate their species. This is actually plausible for them to show up. Seeing how shields worlds can have different time spaces such as on onyx this would give them time to bolster their forces. Maybe they could open San Shyuum ceilexs and maybe even human ones and then indoctrinate them. Pretty cool

Awesome video! We love diving into lore, but Halo Infinite has so many mysteries it feels so cool to be able to piece together lore. This is basically the first Halo game I have gotten to play from launch, and I can only imagine what it was like to play previous Halo games when they launched.

I firmly believe Halo Infinite should have started with a lengthy (2 -3 hr), linear prologue that showed the Created Conflict more directly. During the prologue John 117 could fight Prometheans and Create Allies and even come into conflict with Cortana. Also his armor from Halo 4 &5 could be heavily damaged. Thus, the armor could be replaced by the GEN 3 armor.

I could see them bringing assassinations back but with a gameplay purpose of taking enemies out silently. I was recently watching clips of The Suicide Squad, and the jungle camp scene with Bloodsport and Peacemaker sneaking around taking people out with fancy tech. I could see Locke relying on lethal equipment of his own to take out Banished silently like toxic darts, knives (or maybe give him one of those UNSC machetes that are on the difficulty icons), a scanner, a silenced pistol, tomahawks, or even a hacking device along with a grapple shot. It could even be like a Halo version of the Batman Arkham games in terms of stealth rooms and gadgets.

Man the audio logs most definitely had taken up a lot of space for the campaign I still pre ordered this think they was gonna hit it outta the park and have a tremendously great campaign and I sit her enraged as I haven't even finished it for of how empty the Campaign feels they gutted too much then focused to many chips towards their multiplayer and it's sad really coulda had taken time and really made this great cause it had potential.

Regarding the QnA at the end of the series, should we be posting questions along each episode? Because if so, my main question about this part would be: Would you say that we should infer from the events told to us that the Weapon was remotely deployed from the Infinity? Look forward to the rest! :)

As I likely made clear in your Discord, the Spartan Audio Logs are my favourites. I wonder if we'll see adaptations of any of the cut logs - Spartan or otherwise - in Rubicon Protocol. If I remember one regarding Kovan's fate, Jega and the Banished deliberately exploited the protocol to lure out Spartans and more easily hunt them.

Horveth isFREAKING BAD-ASS, I like him. He actually had a chance against Escharum while 5 other spartans failed. He was also an ODST! Vettel on the other hand is 100% dead

Is possible that the 7,150 members mentioned were only the Navy crew while the members of the other military branches were not counted. Halo Warfleet specifically mentioned that in 2558 the Infinity have a crew of 18,262 which included all military branches (Navy, Marines, ODST, Army, Spartans, ONI, Swords of Sanghelios, Huragok) with the Navy crew specifically said to have 8,900 members, which more or less matches with the number in Halo Infinite, with the missing 1,750 easily explained as casualties of war or simple having been transferred to other ships.

Until we are told/see the infinity destroyed I will not believe it was lost

Too bad none of this was shown to us, or that we got to play it.

Zeta Halo was originally placed in orbit around a non-gas giant planet, that is implied to be the xalanyn homeworld? Then the halo ring fires. The next line seems to imply that despondent pyre discovered the xalanyn, but also still needed to move the ring to be in orbit around the xalanyn homeworld. Was the ring not already in orbit? Or was it in-system? If so, do monitors not ever take a look at their nearby planets and system? Did despondent know the xalanyn existed on this planet before the ring fired? Could despondant have known a species to exist on the planet, but only have taken interest after they survived the firing of a halo array? I seem to recall despondant talking about the xalanyn as "previously uncatalogued". But in terms of events regarding Zeta halo, its position and relation to the xalanyn homeworld, and the xalanyn immunity to the halo array, theres absolutely no way that these things are all coincidences, right? Like we're supposed to believe that the only halo array to orbit a non-gas giant, orbited a planet, a planet that just so happened to harbor a species that just so happened to have immunity to the halo array by pure chance. There is some serious space-illuminati level planning going on here. There has to be. "accidental discovery" by despondent pyre seems makes me feel like 343i still trying to tell me that Santa is real as I approach 30 years old. I've had my long running theory that the xalanyn are connected to the precursors like many others, and my current running theory is that their immunity to the halo ring is an intentional one, not an accident. A programmed or planned immunity, either by their biological design, or by a programmed hole in the halo arrays function. It seems to absolutely confirm that there is some sort of shenanigans afoot.

Crazy some of the shit that captain keys pulled off in space battles with a ship that wasn’t even 1/10th as advanced or powerful as the infinity. The whole idea of the infinity being destroyed is just irritating to me.

Is it ever explained in Shadows of Reach (havent read it yet) how Atriox even knew where Zeta Halo was and that the UNSC had the Weapon??? Also, seems super weird that he was able to arrive at Zeta before the Infinity of all ships....

I'm still unclear about how Cortana actually died. She was trapped by the weapon but who deleted her?

Do we know what the state of the galaxy is after Cortana is destroyed? Are all the guardians just deactivated or do the other IA’s still have control over them?

I'd like to think that the Infinity's shields were stripped by that fallen Guardian on the Ring, which allowed the Banished the opportunity to ram and destroy it with ease.

We don't know all that he was told, but keep in mind, what might be breaking for a character in-universe is going to be different than what might break you or me. Any information we receive about Halo's lore will always be filtered through a lense of fiction, greatly reducing its potential impact. For those in-universe those facts concern the universe and reality they live in, so the impact on them will be quite significant.

I mean I won't say I "want" Locke dead But if him being dead somehow let a different previous spartan take his spot in future content? I'd be super ok with that

I love your content, but I'll skip this series. It will hurt too much to recap everything. What a travesty 343 did to the Infinity and so, so many characters. Even the Banished they managed to blow up with this game, reducing them to a personality cult to Atriox.

You sure know more about Halo than me, still I'd argue that even though The Banished was already a cult of personality for Atriox, it was a way less prominent side of them. Nowhere in HW2 (that I remember) there are characters preaching his name like Escharum does in Infinite. Atriox himself was more focused on the success of the Banished as a whole instead of trying to be this messianic figure. That's just one of the problems though. What hit me the most was the scrapping of the Reclaimer saga and everything that it setup in favor of this "reboot", filled with nostalgia bait disguised as respect for "legacy". As someone who got into Halo because of 4 and (specially) 5, it felt like a proper middle finger to my face.

After the firing of the Halos and the reseeding of the galaxy, they decided to leave and naturally let their species die off. So as far as we know, they're mostly dead. Might be some survivors out there, though.

Excuse me while I beat a dead horse for a minute.... 343 dropped the ball on this one. This game would've been a great Halo 7. Not a Halo 6. You can't just skip that much important shit and fill in the blanks with some dipshit half-cryptic audiologs. So lame. I know a hard reboot and a completely DUMPED main storyline when I see it, 343. You had something cool going with The Created, and you dumped it. Period. Frankly, I'd have more respect for them, and would honestly enjoy the game more if 343 would just come out and say what the ACTUAL mission was for Infinite: to wipe the slate clean for PC gamers that are new to the series, and attracting a newer/younger and fresher fan base; while also telling a chunk of the *core older fan base to go make passionate yet forceful love to themselves. (*a chunk of the core fan base who, in my opinion, were opining with some VERY unfair, nonsensical, and even contradictory criticisms of the previous two sequels. 4 was a fuckin awesome game. As for 5, take out Locke, add playable arbiter even in similar missions, and it's easily in the conversation of great Halo games)

While I do agree that the fanbase can be hypocritical and heavily biased at times I would also say that some of their criticisms do hold some water in some areas. The reason people didn't like 4 was mostly the art direction but also in what was explained aka the Prometheans/Forerunners and the way Cortana died along with how the didact was "fought" and "died". H4 also had the worst multiplayer being almost based like Cod with the whole loadouts stuff. H5 was way worse in story as the story was mostly based in other media besides the games to even understand what's going on, media that not a lot of fans dive into or barely know anything about, along with a repetitive boss fight drawn out 5+ times. Not to mention how dumbed down some characters were to their ACTUAL personalities in the lore. While I'd give more respect to 343i with sticking w their guns and finishing the story they were going to tell I would understand why they would dump it in favor of making things a little more simple and easy to understand for EVERYONE to understand. Its one thing to make and finish a story but its another to finish and tell something that not a majority of people liked.

@@arandominternetuser455 Fair point. I don't even do multiplayer. It's ruining gaming and will be the reason we wind up with games as a service for a monthly fee-even single player campaign modes-rather than a disk you buy once.

It's pretty sad you have to make a video to make the story cohesive. Audio logs were a terrible idea. Not that the game was good anyway but everything important or interesting happened off screen

I love how so much of the story is told through these instead of through the gameplay itself. Garbage game, ruined franchise.
