I think I'm about done with Halo Infinite's shop. We the Halo community have made 1000s of outcries about the ridiculous prices, yet nothing has changed. 343's monetization team just seems to not care, so I don't expect these prices to ever change. What a shame.

Based on 343's decision to get rid of the seasonal model and replace them with bare-bones Operations, and how they've already hinted that the next game's development is in full swing, it's obvious 343 is done with Infinite and are just trying to squeeze as much money out of it as possible before dropping support. I'm not convinced the game will be supported for the next 4 months, let alone until 2025. This is why I haven't spent a dime on this game in nearly a year. There's no point in dropping cash on a game that won't be supported for much longer.

It's such a weird back petal from the everything used to be 1,500 - 2,000 credits at launch, then we got a W with 500 - 1,200 now it's 1,800 to 3,400? Objectively worse now, with 500 credit 20 tier, low tier event emblem passes Absolutely horrible practice when things were already better

​@ReclaimerSnake The budget thing is such a myth, my guy they literally wasted so much money making Infinite by hiring temps and outsourcing to other studios to cut costs it's literally like re-releasing a movie into theaters to make up the losses. I wouldn't be surprised if this trend follows into whatever they call the next Halo it's not going to be Infinite that's for sure.

If u don't like the shop items or prices, don't shop there. Its like any store at the mall or website except with one difference: you still get to use the entire service (online MP + custom matches) free.

I hear you; I am one of those people. I did it to make a bunch of custom spartans... I don't buy everything though and agree with you that people need to stop buying these (I'm officially done) for them to consider "Alright maybe we don't need to milk it" but if they do make a return to the 100 tier for CU:30 and C:.31 it will no doubt be around 3000+ credits to get the pass . I just miss the seasonal cutscenes we got back in Season 2, that kept the MP story going. I think it was leading into Halo 7 and a possible Halo Wars 3.

We've somehow gone so backwards that the new bundles cost more than the Season 1 bundles. It's so baffling to see, especially after the huge successes in Season 3, 4 and even 5.

This is what we call "the squeeze" ladies and gentlemen, they're moving on from infinite so they're squeezing every last bit of money out of it before the next game

I think it's crazy what they charge and then also use fomo in the store on items it's crazy

One feature that could make the shop “feels” better and also potentially make more profit for 343 is to let us buy individual item. Bundles are suppose to be a discount deal, not the only way for us to purchase items. I really like a lot of the store cosmetics but there’s no way I’m spending the price of multiple triple A games for the bundles they’re tied with.

Ever heard of whaling? Free-to-play games get the vast majority of their revenues from top payers, so to maximize revenue one should actually maximize the amount from these players. Lowering the store price to attract more custom actually lowers revenues most of the times because of the distribution of how much each player is willing to pay for in-game item.

I really love the body horror transhumanist aesthetic that they’re going for with the armor sets but it’s tragic that basically none of them are actually earned, instead we get one armor kit that if people do use just makes everyone look the same, I’m not a big fan of the comparison to Helldivers but the monetization is super refreshing not only being able to earn currency for free but also feeling like the armor is actually worth the price, I almost wish halo made the armor sets into operation passes that were $5, that way you could pick up a cool set and earn it overtime

That’s one of many issues with how 343 have treated this franchise, the store is still heavy on fomo content being vaulted, which honestly should just become our new earnable weekly reward or something else close to bringing the store into the free to pay aspect more so considering that the game is dropped off along time ago. We have to come back to check if it’s better yet lol….. they removed 75% of the battle passes just to shove more buyable items that look horrendous ffs. And the anti cheat just doesn’t seem apparent in Infinite, go into the theatre after a match sometimes just to see blatant walls and aimbots I’m all for cross play but maybe we need to rethink it as only consoles v consoles and pc v pc as no matter what way the conversation goes one has cheat or software that gives an edge.

It used to be 1200cr for an armour set and now its 1400cr for a colour. and a visor. Also we used to call this customisation update 29 but now it just feels like map update 29

Guys, the "monetization team" isn't beholden to consumer complaints. Monetization is predatory and it's meant to fuck you over. A strongly worded letter isn't how you deal with that, you boycott the store. If people don't buy it, they won't sell it.

I think the main team cares, the ones who are making the game, and the experience. But I don't think the store team or monetization team care. Either that, or they're forced to do it by Microsoft. Apparently Microsoft stopped MCC development due to it not giving any money. So I guess Microsoft is the main reason for these prices due to that rumor. Though I personally think it isn't a rumor.

@@FootedGhost I honestly believe Microsoft is the entire reason why this is happening. 343, though they are widely hated, were forced to do a lot of things during their first years. Specifically, halo 4 for example, apparently they were going for a more CE tone in terms of gameplay and visuals (Visuals as in fourruner design) and that was true, because in some beta builds (Specifically around 2011 builds) you can find early versions of the maps we know today. And they had a more open design, and in terms of visuals, were more like CE (mostly in design, we have no idea how it would've looked in textures, but my theory is it would've looked like classic halo games) So why does this matter? Apparently they forced 343 to go with a more COD design, and add features that weren't meant to be in. That's why halo 4 was very similar to cod (At least in multiplayer) 5 I think was all 343s fault tbh, it does not seem like they learned anything from 4, though 4s case could be the same as 5. They were forced to do things they didn't want to do. Ultimately, this all culminates into halo infinite, the store as we are talking about is outrageous, MCC was executed apparently for not making money, you get the jist. Microsoft is to blame from what I've observed, and researched. If they weren't to blame here, they absolutely were to blame in 4. Sorry for this long of a rant. Have a great day!

I don't understand why 343 just doesn't go back to the season 1 model: a 100 tier battle pass for 10 dollars dat doesn't give back the credits. I feel they can make WAY more money from asking everybody a moderate amount of money instead of hoping for the whales to buy all these 18 dollar bundles. It's not that they can ever run out of digital items. I honestly don't get their marketing at all.

If there's one thing I hate about live service games is that they make shop prices so outlandish I cant help but be so judgemental over anything that gets priced the way it does. Like, sometimes there will be a coating that I like the colors for, but the pattern isnt doing it for me. So it's not worth $14. Or when there's an armor set that has some nice armor, but I really dont like how the shoulders look, therefore I wont buy it. Or when there's a really cool armor effort n a bundle but its packaged in a $30 bundle. It would be nice to have, but im not going to pay for armor im never going to use. Sigh 😞

I feel like Tolkien from South Park now, "Stop giving them $ Tolkien, or 343 won't stop". I'm not trying to be funny but after hearing a lot of similar takes on the subject. I really won't spend another dime on a content update unless they at least go back to a 100 tier pass. Imo I think we'll get two more then they'll pull a "Last MCC" update and finally let people earn those armory points for unlocks. Sorry but I make a lot of custom spartans, and now I'm getting some hate for it. As some people try to grief me now by sticking me with plasmas and pushing me with that force block ability in Firefight and other game modes. I can understand if people hate some or all of the shop items and want better changes for Halo Infinite but don't start trying to grief people for buying these bundles. I was frugal with my money before, but I don't even want to bother with the catalog now. I have most of the stuff I wanted, I might have bought more MK IV stuff if it was cheaper so I have more variety, but at those prices I got the one I liked and that's it. I also want to point out, we were supposed to get new menu backgrounds with each operation but that seems thrown out too. I don't want support to end but it seriously feels like 343 and Xbox is holding us up by our ankles and shaking the last few cents out of the fanbase before they move on.

I am at the point where if the next halo is a FTP or a live service game with extensive use of a battlepass system i am not going to play it i may beat the canpaign if it looks worth it on gamepass but i simply am not touching multiplayer if i want that i will go to MCC. I am willing to speak with my wallet i bought the halo limited edition series X and love it so i was truly willing to put down for infinite but it is a greedy half baked mess where the only "content" is what you can buy with a credit card and if anyone else is serious about seeing halo's future i hope you speak with your wallet as well. Spartans never die but i sure as hell hope this game does.

Meanwhile Helldivers lets you straight up earn armour by finding Supercredits in game. Spitting in my face would be less insulting than 343's prices.

I mean we can see the root of the problem right their “90% of the event content is in the store” NO. 0% of the event content is in the store, the store was always meant to pray upon people shallow vanity to make money and as long as people continue to think that their vanity is content that things will never change.

I used to care about Halo infinite. At this point in time, I would honestly feel nothing if they announced tomorrow that all servers for the game are shutting down. The fans never asked for a free-to-play pile of crap. When a Halo infinite was first announced, I fully intended to drop the $60/70 for full price game and get a full product at release. But now Halo infinite will die like every other free-to-play game with no players and quietly pushed to the side. 343 seems to have forgotten the fact that in order to sell stuff on a shop, you actually have to produce content to actually play. They have the community doing the work for them to make content, and then they expect the community to pay absurd prices to justify them supposedly "working" on the game.

oh i like a lot of chimera. but not those prices.

Do you know why? Because they have a marketing team which has determined that the maximum revenue comes at those prices. this includes factors like how many people are willing to buy in the first place and how many of those are willing to pay that price. The prices they set is what makes maximum revenue for them. Its not something you "fix" because doing so really hurts the bottom line. Compared to other item shops this is pretty typical. This comment is not a justification but rationale to why companies price items at what they do. Its simply because that is where they KNOW they will make the most revenue, they've done the math. Anything else you said in the video is just something 343 will never care about because mathematically it makes sense for them to price at the prices they do. Its maximum revenue.

The only way to get them to actually take our feedback at this rate is just to stop buying. If Microsoft is forcing them then it’s up to us to pushback and not buy anything. They can do better and this is honestly the only way for them to reduce prices. Either the game is shut down due to lack of funding or they can reduce the stupid ass prices.

It's really not complicated why the prices haven't changed... People buy it. They are making money, why would they?

I’m one of the few who really enjoys the chimera core because of my love for the cyberpunk genre. I was looking forward to the wendigo kit as well as finally a brand new commando weapon kit! I think maybe I’ll just stick to the commando kit as the bundle it’s included in isn’t as ridiculous as the rest of the bundle prices

The pricing is beyond hope, and here I thought it couldn't get any worse. I'm honestly terrified to think what they'll have in store for their next crack at Halo Microsoft needs to put 343i on pause like they did with The Coalition and Gears of War. It's sad to think that 343i has learned nothing from their previous attempts at Halo back then at least they had to put some effort into making original dev maps for DLC with achievements attached now they got unpaid forgers doing all their work for them while they sit back and come up with some cash grab cosmetic that let's be honest will not carry forward into the next Halo.

I bought a few items in season 2 and 3, and still use them all. Those old bundles have increased a lot in price. I would have to pay double what I did back then to get what I use now. The prices are unfortunately here to stay for everything.

I think that the free twenty tier battle pass system is kind of the game on life support, like an IV drip, in terms of player retention. Maybe 343 believes they can keep the game alive just slightly longer if they rapidly release 20-tier battle passes for free instead of releasing a one hundred tier battle pass every 3-6 months. So rather than having a large amount of players in the first 1-2 months then dropping off near the end as everyone finishes it, they release multiple 20 tier passes that slightly increase the player count at a much more consistent rate.

Although you're probably correct about the 20-Tier event passes encouraging player retention, Infinite already had multiple monthly event passes in previous seasons (Yappening, Cybershowdown, Fracture/Tenrai, etc). I'm inclined to believe they removed the Seasonal BP because it was no longer financially viable due to the free credits. Although they could have just reduced/removed the free credits.

The only thing I've found use for with the Chimera is making a sort of headhunter (literally since it has the elite skull shoulder) crossed with a predator kind of vibe. It's very un-Halo and truth be told the fact that the event armor is so.. Chimera-y hadn't really made me very interested in completing the pass, I'm not really looking forward to unlocking the pieces as much as I would if the armor was a bit cooler looking. Like how Wendigo looks, that actually looks pretty cool, again not very Halo-y but cool, though not $20 cool lol

For me personally, outside of the $20 I spent to get S1 and S2 battlepasses (which also got me 3 4 and 5), I haven't put any more money into the game, and i play pretty much every day. It's also not an anti 343 stance or anything like that because CoD is way worse, and I thought a lot of store items like the mk 4, some of the fracture cores and mk 5 CE were cool, but in general, I dont like buying extra if I know there's a chance it won't carry over to the next game. We also can't that if you paid a full $70 (USD) for Infinite that you would get every armor in the game currently. Realistically, you probably would have gotten like the MK7 armors and some reach ones with the MK6 being the prize at the end still. But Mk 4, the floor armors, all the fracture core armors we would probably only see in like a cut content book of like what was planned for Infinite. Store prices still suck though and thankfully I don't care enough to ever look at the store and I just prefer to play the game. Hopefully they avoid the FTP model but not pull a COD either with a new game.

I tend to just ignore the shop. The “live service” part of the game for me, is all the new maps the forgers make. I really agree with you we need more weapons and vehicles, but I’m not sure how much they are working on the game anymore. Their latest map was made 3rd party, and I’m pretty sure it was forged.. looked like it to me anyways.

I've heard that a lot of peeps at 343i are rather upset at the monetization team for doing this stuff and ruining the reputation everyone else had worked super hard to get. But that's just a rumor. I haven't found an official source yet. However.. Regardless, it is hurting the game more than it is helping it.

What makes me really sad is that this has become such a normal thing for games that many people are willing to spend this absurd amount of money, which means games have no reason to stop it. The only way to end this videogame store system would be a playerbase-wide boycott, but unfortunately a lot of players aren't connected to the community through social media and wouldn't know about it. Or wouldn't care idk

I really don’t think they’re absurd. It’s totally in-line with other games, Halo fans just aren’t used to it. Not to mention, we used to have to pay for new maps and what not. Now that’s all free. It’s an even trade, and even better really because we all have access to the same content pool and you don’t need to pay anything for it.. Cosmetics are all optional stuff, and there’s plenty of free things to earn just by playing, so who cares. The devs need to make their money

I think an armour effect, coating and visor for 1600 credits is a joke, but you're right. Us halo fans aren't used to paying for cosmetics so that's probably why we aren't taking it as well as other gaming fans. I still think the devs could make far more money if they priced the cosmetics fairly instead of how they're priced at the moment. I definitely understand what you're saying, but I think 343 can do better, and we should hold them to a higher standard.

if devs wanted money, they should've released a game that would sell well and not be a constant meme and failure (aside from soundtrack). It's one of the most expensive games ever made and launched 10 steps back from previous Halo titles. No Mans Sky has been Hello Games' only current video game for the past 8 years, has a playerbase is twice that of Halo Infinite and with 0 microtransactions.

These bundles are a third or half the price of a AAA game. Look me in the eyes and tell me that 2-3 bundles is worth a full price game. Also this is only in line with the free to play industry, and the games that are charging this actually develop the game they're selling them in. We got one weapon. One. Since launch. Granted thats because of a lot of factors behind the scenes, and most of the people responsible for Infinites mess are no longer at 343 (thank god) and now 343's made the decision to start from scratch, (Again). Heres hoping they've learned the lessons the past 10 years taught.

They monetise it like this because those are the prices that make them the most profit whether anyone likes it or not, they wont be allowed to lower them as the lower one literally do not profit as much its as simple as that. It sucks but with Halo Infinites player count nothing else can be done as of now the only way would be if there was more players

The store is becoming Apex/Overwatch 2 levels of insane and I absolutely hate that. If these prices don’t decrease, I don’t see myself buying anything else anytime soon.

The armor and design teams make cool fucking stuff or, in the case of Chimera, try to experiment with ideas such as "Created-made Cortana controlled cyber-Flood" but then the monetization team turns around and shits all over the game and franchise with these horrible prices.

Ive been playing halo since day 1 when i was like 5 years old. it instantly became my favorite franchise ever once i saw that Combat Evolved loading screen and halo music for the first time. Ive never not purchased a halo game, but the next halo game will be the first I refuse to buy unless it launches 100% content complete with no store, and Reach levels of customization MINIMUM, and a campaign that is actually complete and doesnt end on a dumb cliffhanger(5 and Infinite) or that you need to read books beforehand to understand what is happening. Which means i will likely never be playing halo again because 343 is officially the worst developer in all of gaming. Its always 1 step forward and 10 steps back. I told everyone the moment they announced seasons were grtting axed that the game is on the way out and theyre officially just trying to milk as much money as possible with as little effort as possible. Im done with 343. Infinite had such a good foundation. The art style was PERFECT. The graphics after the year delay were incredible. The gameplay was PERFECT. The campaign COULD have been among the halo greats had it not started in the middle and ended on a cliffhanger with no continuation in sight. Like Infinite legit could have brought Halo back to the top but 343 is simply allergic to success

After the whole shit show at 343 and all the firings, I’m guessing Pierre sees this as a necessary evil since Infinite was a financial letdown, and no money would mean more firings or the potential closing of the studio. People are probably buying this shit so the prices are gonna be the same for a while.

In my opinion Halo Infinite is the best multiplayer since Halo 3 in terms of fun. If they want you to move on from Infinite that’s fine just make sure you don’t go backwards like with Halo 4 or Halo 5 multiplayer.

Imo, They can charge as much as they want for the chrimera core armors pieces, they could make it free and I still wouldn't unlock it

I bought the one with the skull in the chest chimera and it's JUST A KIT - 18 BUCKS FOR A KIT YOU CANT CUSTOMIZE CMON MAN

It would cost you $200+ to buy all the stuff in this event and the free battlepass gives you kneepads, shoulders & a helmet. That's it. I LOVE Chimera and I was so excited to get a Chimera themed battlepass just for 343 to lock all the content behind the most egregious paywall I have EVER seen. I am fucking LIVID. I flat-out refused to play the stupid event over it.

The armor/cosmetics in all halo games has always been ONE of the biggest parts of halo for me. I recently stopped playing halo infinite because of the way the shop is and earning armor/cosmetics just feels non existent. I have been playing since the beta and finally have come to a stop these past months mainly because of this reason. I still think this game has some of the best gameplay and content to offer out of almost all the halo games but the paywall is just so gross that it finally put me off from playing the game after all this time. (i know its such a dumb reason to stop playing a modern game but its a halo game and nothing is genuinely earnable)

Here is the thing: They wouldn't make cosmetics and price them like this if no one was buying. That would be a waste of energy. Clearly a larger enough amount of people buy this stuff so they keep doing it 🤷‍♂

As always when it comes to monetization I don't think 343 has a say in the matter.

They won't change because for every 100 players that complain, there's 10 that buy every single item and bundle in the shop. I am not making this up, thats how these games usually go, there's always a group that buys everything they see on the item shops. There was a mobile game a few years ago and the US servers only stayed up for so long because there were only 7 dudes who'd spend thousands of dollars on it monthly until it shutdown.

It’s sad I haven’t felt the urge to play halo since helldivers came out, I’ve been constantly playing infinite since launch too but the way things have been going they just lost me. The huge microtransactions and lack of any major content (mostly weapons and vehicles) just doesn’t make the game appealing.

I played all the way up until the last winter event, almost got to max rank and haven’t even updated the game this year. Too many poor decisions, awful shop and lack of content. I mostly just play MCC now and it has the bonus of my friends playing it as most refused to touch Infinite. It’s all in all just really sad as the sandbox is probably one of the best and most fun and it’s never been given the proper attention to let it shine.

I have never played a game that was good that wanted me to hate it at the same time. I get the feeling some dumbass saw a graph of money go up, so they do this dumb shit. Then they also wonder where the 20 million players went. You know you could have convinced more people to buy shit if the shop wasn't shit. Instead they are just hammering the whales for less money over all and pissing off the most dedicated. 343 is literally killing the golden goose. I'm tempted to try Helldivers.

Have stopped playing infinite for a little while now, I've never hated and raged at a game more than infinite. It would take a while to articulate all the reasons why, but there are Many. The lack of self awareness from 343, including with their shop from Day 1, like you talked about Ghost, is one of the most ridiculous problems of any game right now. They Never read the room, they Never fully listen, and these cosmetics should be sold individually.

In part it's also the players who keep buying. I know I know, your money your choice... but how I wish gamers took a stance against these folks for once. Especially for a game we know the devs have moved on from, and some be like, ooh gotta spend some money before game is put offline.

It's fucking criminal how much incompetence has destroyed the chances of this game being revived. It'll never hit a playercount higher than 10k with all this BS on the shop. And we know for a damn fact the next Halo Game WILL have a cash shop, even if the multi isn't free-to-play.

Here's the irony... The people that would buy these cosmetics are probably the hardest core Halo fans... And yet, 343 is literally ripping them off. Absolutely shameful.

It really sucks because some of the cosmetics in the game are actually really, really nice. It's obvious 343 has given up on this game. Dare I say, at least over a year ago. Yet still, we get **this**. My big knock on HALO 5 was that eventually 343 gave up supporting new maps and left future content updates up to community made Forge maps. WIth Infinite, the only reason people haven't given up completely is because 343 has relied heavily on community forged maps since the early updates. Hell, they even make community posts begging for new types of maps/creations, with the promise of what? A limited edition Forger skin that will be utterly useless once everyone finally sees this game for what it's always been: an unmitigated disaster, and a blatant cash grab. I've always loved HALO, so don't think I take joy in saying this. But don't pee on my face and tell me it's raining. There's a reason 343 hasn't been transparent, and always make excuses for their predatory shop pricing: Because they've been lying to us all since Day One. They'll give us an excuse and then KZreadrs will flaunt the excuse as if it's gospel, only for people to wait around a month and say ' Hey, wait a minute". There's only one way to end this cycle, and there's no nice way to say it. But, we can't trust 343 as far as we can throw them. All of the good will that has built this community from the Bungie days is not only gone, it's being actively used against us.

if Halo 7 comes out like Infinite did or Halo 5 did and not how season 5 came out with Forge and other goodness after charging up the ass for crap armor and we get a store that locks armor behind a paywall AGAIN they will keep failing to games like Helldivers 2, but all 343i is gonna hear is how about the good thing we take from Helldivers 2 is the price tag but we keep a armor style wall and put exp boosts and other nonesense no one wants from battlepasses, instead of fitting all the social aspects Bungies Halos had from dual wielding to post game lobbies other community driven aspects that keep us wanting to come back and play, if Halo 7 comes out like Overwatch 1 to 2 343i will once again hear the words # fire 343i because we dont want their corporate Halo anymore we want our Halo back and they are so close but it still seems like theres something holding them back, SBMM has kept me away from wanting to play at all unless its with friends, if i play by myself ill get wrecked in a game or 2 because i know how to do a few fancy slide tricks or above average plays and be punished, #Halo7cannot do all the mind numbing BS Infinite has done and been put under for 9 years since Halo 5, if i wanted to sweat while playing Halo id play ranked but NOOOOOOO social puts me in a game with Mintblitzy because i go 7-6 in a match i win like thanks alot, im not asking for easy wins vs lesser players im asking to let them everyone have chance to play together instead of putting everyone in groups as harsh as they have, Infinite was their chance to prove they can do this but after "CONTENT 29", THE LAUNCH, the store hiding armor behind 20 dollar prices f-ing DESYNC AND SBMM this game aint it and will lose to games like Helldivers 2 or Palworld because they wont change and theyll also only see the success of each game and be like this is what players want huh time to trend chase instead learning players want to feel respected for putting in time in your video game you spent time making, progression exp and stuff , rewards and the store being the thing in the back if i want to change my game and give back to the peole who made it and be like im going to buy a skin for my player to walk around in AND NOT HAVE TO PAY LIKE 30 CAD TO WEAR THE ARMOR MASTER CHIEF WORE IN HALO 1 and not be like Jimmy Rings and wear my Halo 6 armor in a show taking place on Reach when he should have mk 5 or 4 armor like wtf man!?i feel like 343i and who ever else holds the name Halo is disrespecting us every time they get the chance and it couldnt be more blatant than the TV SHOW, i love Halo with a passion but even the books have slapped me in the face as a long time player, the games have to conform to them more than ever, Halo Infinite could of been on any Halo ring but 343i chose Zeta where in the books massive events took place but none of them shown up in the slightest maybe a mention of the Flood, a f-ing MENTION thats all we get from the galaxy destroying parasite and its used as prop up for a new enemy that did f all in the story, but back to the books, we havent played as Arby since 2007 or worse 2004 since in Halo 3 he was a glorified companion to Master Chief(F the tv show, John john john!) and every other Halo character imaginable locked behind books because 343i dont know how to use the tools theyve been given so they opted for 3 characters to represent the UNSC, wheres anyone from Halo 5, 343i- everyone hated them so we made em all disappear in Infinite but if you miss them theres the audio logs fml, the Prometheans and the Warden Eternal, the Didact didnt deserve to die in the books the games should of gotten that honor, books need to conform to the games and add to the characters and make them or destroy them. so Halo 7 please for all that is holy score more than 3/10 because Infinite has everything it needs to be good but chooses to have harsh monetization with the store, strict SBMM, content down the line and desync, so if the Infinite store wants to be a turd and charge crazy how about putting that money into making an awesome Halo game and not one to join the library of games, make it one that everyone buys to play alot more than whats been made for the last 10 years by this point, cant make money from something if you charge more and more instead of making great products that by word of mouth gets people to buy in and you give them stuff that incentivizes them want to reward you with in like skins or other cosmetics like visors or gun charms.

I saw another comment mentioning this, Halo players aren’t used to this type of monetization. As a person who played Call of Duty before moving to Halo, seeing shop items cost this much doesn’t really surprise me. In CoD, a normal item in the shops would cost you around 20 bucks and would often times contain either a skin (that u couldn’t customize mind you), a weapon charm, and weapon kit. Now like you said, i believe 343 does care about the game. BUT, i do feel like there monetization branch is just simply following modern FTP shop standards without a second thought.
