The comment about friendships forged during the Human-Covenant War is so so true. I made about 3 really good online friends during Halo 2/3, I have never met them in person, but we have each other on Instagram, discord, and we still play together. Even going through AC6 together. There was, and hopefully will be again, something truly special about the social sandbox that is Halo.

Definitely go meet them irl some day. I went to my friend's wedding for the first time meeting him in person. We were in a clan together when halo 3 and reach were popular and knew each other for over ten years at that point. We will a billion percent be friends for life.

same here, i have like 270 hours on pre-management change halo infinite because i liked the gameplay so much. im glad that the *rest* of the game is finally coming out even if i could ignore how barren it was before

Me and my brother recently started playing Infinite again with the last game we played online together being Reach. This time though, we have added our younger two siblings so that has been very awesome to do as a family. Infinite is such a hard game to talk about, so I really appreciate your take on it that wasn't just "Halo is dead" or "Halo is totally back!"

Green man, piano will always make me tear up. Year by year I feel less like the little boy playing Halo splitscreen with my dad, and more like the old vet looking at the Spiker in the Believe trailer. We'll never feel like we felt in the Human/Covenant War, ever again. Each game release feeling like securing a new foothold against the Covenant. I'll always miss looking at those marines gear up on the H2 matchmaking screen. Each match felt like a new battle to make new enemies, and friends. Miss you YoinkManDan, and I miss you too, Dad.

Habie is the only person to convince me to give this game a second chance. Did they ever fulfill their broken promise that they lied to us about with splitscreen campaign? People got that working with a mod, random people, and 343 can't manage to do it even though it was a major selling point apologizing for Halo 5 promising Infinite would have it.

It doesn't have splitscreen on PC, and it's not in the campaign, according to a quick google (as of July 2023). Apart from this video, I've not really been keeping up with this affront to Halo's legacy. I'll grant it's not all bad, but man...

All the stuff added to the game has been awesome. You didn’t even talk about the fact that the campaign AI was added to forge and people have been making custom firefight maps, and even like, actual custom campaign missions

After staying with Halo Infinite since the beginning, it's so incredibly satisfying to see this game make such a comeback.

@@no-replies I agree. And OP, this is not even the beginning either... kay it has to get lots better for it to even actually be called that. Are there cross core for the armors, sure they are all free but only the visors have been made that way just barely. Does that annoying two system thing for matchmaking still exist, is melee/bullet whiffing by the game's doing still there? Have the hackers been dealt with, is the anti-cheat better? Are there game modes that don't devolve into sweaty play and are they going to stop removing bot boot camp for months at a time, or at the very least disable it to do what they need to? I mean come on I play BB cause it's an all-around good middle ground and no one's sweaty over there. There is still so much more I haven't covered because I forgot or can't keep track of. One reason it is like this now is because o lot of what was wrong with MS and 343 left or stepped down and out of, so now the game has improved some. Not very much but is still in the right direction, but also a very small drop in an ocean of a mess still needing to be cleaned up, a disaster at the nuclear level.

@@BlackMoonHowls I have not heard anyone bring up the games overall sandbox physics but with how many problems the game still has thats expected atleast the gunplay is good, but I got in to halo for the vehicle sandbox and thats the weakest part of the game now

The WORST part of Halo Infinite is that it is marketed as a "esports game" when the PvP really hasn't even gotten good yet, the game still suffers from bad balancing and spawning issues whereas the PvE of the game is honestly some of the best of the whole series. Here's hoping Firefight evolves over time because that might just be the saving grace of this game.

@@yanke3564 Most Modern mics/headsets have a very accessible mute feature that switches on & off w the click of a button. I don’t want to hear babies screaming, wind, breathing, bad music blaring, etc. 90% of people with open mics can’t even control their emotions and immediately mock their team instead of making useful callouts/commentary. If the first thing I hear is “where tf is MY team?!?!1” I either immediately mute them, or if i’m feeling spicy I exasperate their rage by mimicking their behavior lul. Zero Remorse for cringe raging gamer stereotypes

@@knoxianpanda open mic on console is nearly essential. Imagine taking your hand off your controller to flip the mic up and down what, 15 to 25 times a minute, if youre giving callouts the whole round especially. Its not practical, idk if u play console but im on PC and console, i can say for a fact push to talk is waaaay easier to deal with mid-game than muting urself every time you talk is. Raging and other obscene noises are outliers, that happens in just a few cases and is usually joked about by almost every gaming community. But i dont think you realize, NOBODY on console is keeping their mic muted unless they have a legitimate reason to, because it genuinely takes away from whatever game ur playing if youre trying to talk to people.

You have no right making me feel these feelings with the Halo 3 menu screen darnit.

Man i remember in high school my class was in the library using the computers for "research" and then some of us found a way to play halo on them. Kids who probably never talked to one another became friends in mere minutes cause they were on the same side. Ah the good ol days.

It wasn't just one update. There's been a series of updates that started with the first Winter Contingency Update back in season 3, with each update improving upon the last. Truthfully, each update brought something new. It's just seasons 1 & 2 took entirely too long, including the time between season 2 to 3.

What's crazy is that i keep realizing just how good the AI was in Halo CE. It's one of the things that just blew my mind when it came out and it's crazy how well it still holds up to this day when you go back and play the OG halo again. It's a thing of beauty especially with the tech limitations they were working with. There has been so many "new" games that their AI comes nowhere close to what OG Halo did. Left 4 dead 2 also had an amazing AI system. I'm glad this Halo is finally getting treated with passion and creativity. I hope these new devs keep this up. I'd love for them to make an eerie DLC with a new creepy campaign built around the return of the flood. There is so much potential there. Especially with making some unique Liminal spaces for the story to play out in. Don't fall into the open world trap. Craft a well made campaign dlc. They could do a lot of this with this new Halo. I hope they tap into the amount of creativity they could utilize if they just focus. They saw how much the open world didn't work. So craft creative stuff. It would be easier and nicer than making only open world stuff. I really hope this new dev team actually taps into everything the halo community has dreamed of. Which is just at least getting back the options & gameplay mechanics that at least halo 3 provided. There is so much potential there. They just need to be willing to tap into it!

The reason for why Infinite is so great today is thanks to the accumulation of those 2 years worth of updates and honestly since season 4 they've been on a hot streak when it comes to consistent updates and content. It's only uphill from now baby.
