As an aging gamer I am very happy to see it as a simple and light game, I am done with complex rulesets and games that have a huge learning curve barrier of entry. Bring on simple and fun!

Really hoping this game takes off, what Ronnie was saying about wave 1, 2, and 3, got me so hyped. I can’t imagine how sick it’s going to be having full on UNSC vs Banished vs Flood battles with friends. The Halo tabletop child me dreamed of.

Nice! Sounds awesome. Not sure if you are a Deadzone player, it the rules are tight. Adding the Halo universe to it just makes it better. Knowing Ronnie, he will keep adding cool stuff to the game and make it awesome.

@@familyofgamers777 haven’t played dead zone, but it sounds like a lot of fun. This will be my first tabletop game that I’ve actually owned. I’ve played Warhammer with friends and instantly fell in love with tabletops. Been waiting for a good Halo tabletop all my life.

I think it will take off, due to the fact it is the Deadzone rules, it will be successful. The other games really didn’t do well with this property. Should be great.

This is more of a skirmish game. It is similar to Deadzone, which is one of the best games around.

They likely need to prove that there is an install base before committing to designing and machining molds for a full size army game. I imagine if this does well it will get expanded to include large scale confrontations.

Looks really good The simple rules sets are just as good if not better than complex rule sets imo. It's more chess-like than depending on meta knowledge and study

I was on the fence for this one, but listening to Ronnie talk about it is enough to get me hyped up. Really excited for when they start releasing proper factions and the content he was hinting at a few years down the line. Hope we see some of these rules come to Deadzone which I think could use a rules update/ points rebalance. That 1-3 move would be great for Marauders who are one of the slowest armies all around and also one of the most fighty. Would also be cool to see weapon pickups along with the items. All and all though I just hope Deadzone doesn't disappear as a result of this game coming out.

So I had the same concerns as you did. The update to Deadzone would be welcome, but I think we’re in a good place with that. I will confirm this is a way to get people into Deadzone, and a lot of people were picking up the 2 player starter set waiting for Halo. That’s a good sign. Some of the rules may come over, but I don’t like the whole can’t fight back in combat is not my favorite, but I get it because you can respawn. I think this is a step in the right direction.

It’s a skirmish game for now, but they have the license for 5 years and who knows what will happen in the next 5 years. I like that it’s a smaller game, but I could play a bigger game.

Amazing. Just pre ordered the spartan edition. Comes with a master chief mini too. But what I really want is a premium edition where the minis are pre painted .

very cool, super interested to get in now. I know theres a 4 Elite Team, itll be interesting to see if you can mix and match Elites and Spartans on a team, and if we'll eventually see teams with different numbers (like 5 ODST or 6 marines or something) This looks like a great skirmish game, and as a long time Kings of War player, i trust in Ronnie

Yes, come to the Deadzone side! It’s a great game and a lot of new players will be drawn into it because of Halo, which is a great thing.

This seems very interesting though the armor value seems a little confusing at first probably will get it once I get my hands on it

It’s really not that hard. The shields are what you get rid of first. Armor blocks hits, unless the shooter has AP. AP 1 removes 1 point of armor. If we can understand it, anyone can. 😊

Can you move diagonally ? Or can you only go to the adjacent cube?

You can move Orthogonally. So if your Move stat is 2/3. You can move 2 cubes as a short action and 3 as a long action. As long as you have a clear path, you can move diagonally. It’s nice, move cubes not inches.

It’s another way to get extra cover. I like that mechanic, but I think they should have a token to show that a model is crouching.

Soooo...basicaly it's the poorer cousin of DZ? I know it's the IP an all that jazz...but for me it seems just lame to do a stripped down reskin of DZ just coating it into a named IP, but amaybe something good may come out of this, we will see.

Not really stripped down DZ, but DZ with added twists. It’s not like the Mars Attacks-DZ. The rule book is almost as big as DZ. We did play 2 games on our own.

I have to vehemently disagree with you. This is based on Deadzone, which is the best skirmish game. We have been playing it for years, fantastic game.
