Reminds me when I was a young teen and it was late into the night and I could not sleep. So I booted up Halo 3 ODST on the xbox 360. Playing the night time levels made you feel like you were the only person left in the world. I remember even trying to sneak past grunts because of this music, knowing full well that i could 1 tap head shot them. Didn't matter it was that fear of being seen buy the numerous hoard of enemies while you felt like there was nobody else left that could help you. Amazing game.

Mom would take the controller away at night wasn't able to have that luxury but its nice to know others did 18 now so I can play at night 😂😂😂

ODST could get real creepy.

You were in an abandoned city at night, surrounded by tons of Covenant troops, separated from your team, have no clue where you even are, and you got this soundtrack playing in the background. Creepiest part of the game, but that's what makes it awesome.

I love how they got the electric guitar to work so well in this piece. Despite how unique this track is, you still hear those trademark ODST riffs.

From 2022... Can confirm: ODST Flood Firefight has been made in MCC as we know it.

tfw you’re low on health, theres hordes of grunts, two brutes and jackals firing at you from rooftops but your out of ammo and have to run to the last covvie’s body you dropped with the remaining ammo you had to get their gun

This has potential for a more horror based gameplay. Can you imagine playing Halo 3 ODST if it took place when the flood took control all over New Mombassa? Imagine if the flood wasn't entirely destroyed after that mission.

That would be terrifying. I feel like the flood would swarm you and be unstoppable and I'm not sure an ODST can survive that.

Actually New Mombasa was already destroyed by the Covenant when Truth arrived on Earth . The city the Flood infested in Halo 3 is Voi

That would be a great horror game, you as an ODST in Voi (where the flood ship crashed in halo 3) wakes up in their pod after the flood take control over the city, everywhere you go would be dead civilians with flood mass all over them and screaming in the distance. You would have to go underground, maybe take a subway out of the city to escape but it would be infested by flood. I don’t think there would be any good ending like the ODST surviving because the elites start glassing Africa after that to stop the flood so you would die even if you escaped the city. Perfect idea for a flood horror game though

For some reason this sort of reminds me of a more sci-fi version of World at War's menu theme

Could you make an extended version of “the calm before” from ODST ?

others are saying this sounds creepy, to me it just sounds rather lonely and sad. rookie gets seperated from his crew and thrown into a cityscape devoid of human life, with the only other things living being the enemy, and the only evidence of people being corpses and demoralizing graffiti. one wrong move by a brute and he's as good as gone if he wasn't by now, considering the circumstances. hell, even a couple of grunts could take him down if they tried a bit more. rookie's by no means master chief, he's only a mere footsoldier, that is like one person on the ship (forgot name) said, "expendable". also the name of the music is pretty cool, postpartum meaning "the period just after delivery", and it plays after rookie lands, or in this case, is delivered
