I love to make gothic journals! They are so fun! Love it!!
☕️☕️☕️BEST coffee / tea stain technique EVER! Sometime simple is best, isn’t it?! Even just having the torn pages as tuck spots... they’re perfect! 🕷🕷🕷Your book is wonderful; thanks for letting us see!! Take good care!! 💕from🇨🇦

Kelly Graham Lloyd definitely! Simple is refreshing haha! Thank you so much! ♥️
This has got to be my favorite thing on KZread!
Oh my goodness....I absolutely adore this journal. The cover is stunning!!
What a “mysterious” and cute journal! I love the cover and all the images you found!
Awesome journal! love your way of tea/coffee staining your papers. Thanks for sharing!
Girl! You just make the whole journal thing so fun! Thank you for sharing what you do! You rock!
Every time you make a journal I get so excited to see the flip through!!! You’re such an inspiration and I look forward to seeing your next creations!! What a gorgeous journal!!!
Beautiful book. I love how you incorporated so many tips into this video!!!! Thank you for sharing!
Really, really love this cover. The entire journal is great! TFS!!
Just love the soft eerily creepy vibe of the book. It turned out amazing! Also thanks for the process on the cover. Always helpful and inspirational to see that. I would use it for only Halloween journaling through the years. Like every year when your kids dress up you could put a picture of them in the book and journal about the day. Would be very fun to look back on.

That's a dramatic journal. I've moved onto Christmas now... just finished a Christmas vintage journal.... thanks for all the inspiration here. I'm also upcycling; makes me very happy to use it when I make my junk journals. Joie ❣️😁
Such a gorgeous journal and beautiful video, as usual... thanks for the tips Johanna!
I am in love with this video!! Beautiful!!
This looks fantastic.
Love you sharing your process!!! Love the distressing and the look of this!! I’m not a big Halloween fan but I did a journal last year that I need to go back and put pics in but it’s literally a “junk” journal lol (it was when I first began learning and watching).. but I would do one like this for fun probably! I LOVE alll things Tim Holtz but his people are definitely while vintage, creepy.... 😂😂😂 Thanks for sharing how you work!!

Amazing I love it 😍😍😍😍
It looks amazing😻
Thankyou for sharing Johanna. I've been so hoping you'd make a Halloween journal one day. Love the mysterious style. I'm going to look at old book covers in a new light next bookfair. Perfect use of charms, staining, ink, stencil, papers, lace and ephemera (and eerie music!). I've only quite recently discovered Tim Holtz, fabulous. The cover is gorgeous, adore the use of the broken spoon! :)
Tienes una nueva suscriptora, me encanta como ha quedado, realmente dan ganas de hacer uno, precioso!!!
Sooo beautiful!!!
I love this theme. It's a very spooky book now. 😉🎃👍🕷

Another amazing video Johanna! I get so excited when I get a notification for a new video from you! I absolutely adore this journal, I love all of your work but since I love Halloween so much (mine and my fiancé anniversary) this one I think is my favorite! Are you putting it up on tour shop? I would love to give it a home! (I’m pretty broke, but a girl can dream lol)

Kady Sousa thank you Kady ♥️ i think i’m going to hang on to this one and use it for all of our halloween photos over the years! X
Love it... love all of your journals lol! I've been collecting a few things to start my first journal...a little nervous especially about the spines. I didn't see any reinforcement like with the flaps on either side. How did you reinforce? Never get tired of watching your process... always a treat!

Loved watching your process! It turned out fabulous. What technique do you use for drying your stained paper?
@JohannaClough
5 жыл бұрын
Sharon Bessell for these papers I put them in direct sunlight and then when they were almost dry finished them off in the oven because the sun went down haha x
The cover made me think of a wiccan journal ahah
This is so great! I love it! What sewing machine do you use or recommend? I have a very old one and am looking for a new one to use for crafts and journals. Thank you and can’t wait till the next video!

L C i just have a singer i got in 2012! I’m not really an expert whatsoever so I may not be the best to ask! It may be more to do with using the right kind of needle for paper (and changing it out when you use fabric) x
@lc5464
5 жыл бұрын
Johanna Clough thanks for responding! I also have a Singer handed down to me by my mom. I love it because my mom gave it to me but it is difficult to use. I’m also still a beginner. I didn’t know about changing out the needle! I’ve never changed the needle between fabric and paper. Perhaps I’m due for a trip to the fabric store....Thank you! 😊
How did you dry the papers? Did you put them in the oven? I just love your book! Beautiful!
@JohannaClough

MsBrickman1 i actually just popped them in the sun and then when they were like 90% dry I popped them in the oven x

@@JohannaClough Wonderful! Thank you!
I am very thankful you did this as I like grungy steampunk style albums. I want to make one for my 65th birthday on Nov 15 for cards & pictures & favorites. I have bought your tutorial on doing beads for the spine but yours always look so full. Would you consider doing a tutorial on how you get such a full look??? Like specifically what type of threads you use etc? Happy Halloween!!!
@JohannaClough
5 жыл бұрын
Alice Adler hey Alice ♥️ i literally just keep adding until I am happy with the fullness and the look of it! All the thread info and number of threads I use is included in the tutorial, but feel free to message me on etsy if you have any more questions! I can’t really share a free tutorial of the skills lovely people like yourself have paid to learn but i’m more than happy to help explain/give feedback on the result you are getting using the tutorial xx
