I do wish that it were set in that universe if only so that we could see Haddonfield among the montage of cities across America, but admittedly that would mess up the timeline even more since, you know, nearly every kid on the continent seemingly died, so I guess it's not a big deal.

@@ChildOfChaos07 I think so too because after two successful Halloween movies where Michael Myers was the bad guy, most people would expect to go into a horror movie called Halloween and expect a movie about people being chased down by Michael Myers. If this movie was just called Season of the Witch and was its own thing instead of being attached to the Halloween franchise it would have probably been better received that it actually was.

That movie started the greatest tradition in my life :) My girlfriend is the kind of person who can't watch a horror flock without having nightmare. I, however, LOVE horror movies on Halloween. One day, 8 years ago, I was trying to convince her to watch something with me, without any luck. I've recently seen the 80's Dan review, and I just proposed that movie, knowing they're was nothing scary in it and that we could drink every time the jingle was heard. I just didn't know it would play 14 times in the movie :P damn, 14 shots (watered down after 2-3) in 2 hours, a lot of laughs, and a new tradition was born! Now, every Halloween, all friends and I watch terrible horror movie, where nothing is scary, everything is over the top, and we drink :) It's kind of bittersweet that SpookyFest 2020 will return to its roots this year and only my gf and I will attend...

I remember Halloween 4 was ment to be an different story tieing into III. The story was going to go back to Haddonfield from Halloween 1/2 and after the Shamrock sacrifice incident, Halloween was pretty much disregarded as an memorial day and masks were pretty much banned from stores across the country along with Silver Shamrock being burned to the ground, and the US delt with an locus infestation. The story was going to follow Laurie as she investigates more into Micheal years after the attacks. Loomis was gonna return as well but voice only, and the movie was ment to be more story on Micheal's past and character rather then just being another slasher thing. The pitch was rejected and then it was rewrote to what we got now, which was Halloween IV, and it was "Meh".

One of the most hated and misunderstood movies of all time. Just watch it as a stand-alone movie, forget about Myers. It's a shame they didn't continue the anthology idea, instead, we got the same character over and over again. The film has a great atmosphere and soundtrack, Tom Atkins kicking ass, crazy villain, gore and some bizarre wtf moments. The next film to follow it would be Trick 'r Treat. And yeah...the Silver Shamrock song is annoying. Yeah Myers killed a kid in 2018 but Cochran did it first and more hardcore. You can create new ideas. So far we had Myers and a crazy old man who wants to murder children. You can add more crazy new villains in the town of Haddonfield or just Halloween itself.

I like to think Michael Myers does exist in the "Halloween III" timeline and the "Halloween" movies were produced by John Milton two decades before he exploited Maureen Prescott's murder with the "Stab" franchise. Because why not?

I love this film. I bought the paperback when I saw it for sale at a local store. Loved the artwork and that is what caught my attention. I read the novel before seeing the film (it is pretty close to the film). Back then my folks had a videodisc player (VCRs were coming a little later) and we rented a bunch of videodiscs each week at a nearby local town. I saw Halloween 3 the first time on videodisc. I just love the storyline, the unique kills and effects, the characters in the movie, and of course the amazing score by Carpenter and Howarth. The ending of the film is great too. It is in my top 3 favorite horror films along with Phantasm and Tourist Trap.

Samhain means Summer's end in Gaelic, long before the demon called consumerism had consumed the holiday, it used to be a holiday centered around honoring the dead and remember our deceased loved ones that has gone long before us. So there is a deep spiritual aspect to Halloween especially when it comes to the Samhain roots. After death comes new life, and it's part of nature's cycle. That is my perspective and why I love Samhain so much, the human body has limits, but the spirit still carries on and goes beyond. After death comes New Life. Have a blessed Samhain and happy Halloween everyone. 🎃🍂🍁💀🌑🍭🍬

This is the best Halloween movie without Michael Myers in it. There. I said it. And am I the only one who thinks this is the ONE Halloween movie that would be served well by a remake? As much as I've grown to appreciate this movie, it's clear that it could've used a couple rewrites to fix problems like the fact that the movie seems to pretend that time zones don't exist. (Think about it. It's 9 PM in New York while it's 6 PM in California. By the time the climax of the film gets going, countless kids in the Eastern, Central, and Mountain time zones are already dead.) My favorite shot in the movie is at the end of the trick-or-treating montage, when the camera pans from the kids in the hills to the town below as the Silver Shamrock jingle fades and the dark of night descends. Such an eerie, menacing shot representing the evil that is about to befall the world. Dean Cundey is still the man. A brilliant little touch of set design? The monitors and control consoles that kill the robots and Cochran at the end are arranged in a circle like Stonehenge. The trio of Silver Shamrock masks also reminds me of the trio of Happy Meal Boo Buckets that McDonald's sold a few years later. The only differences? McDonald's used a ghost instead of a skull, and opted to kill millions of kids slowly through obesity, heart disease, and diabetes. Also, if you don't wanna hunt eBay for an expensive Silver Shamrock mask, you can buy one from Trick Or Treat Studios for about 50 bucks.
