Halloween 6 Dr.Loomis talks about Michael Myers

Ойын-сауық

A nice clip from the movie where Dr.Loomis talks to Debra Strode about Michael Myers. One of the best scenes from the movie by late Donald Pleasence.

I met this six-year-old child with this blank, pale, emotionless face, and the blackest eyes, the Devil's eyes. I spent eight years trying to reach him and then another seven trying to keep him lock up because I realized that what was living behind that boy's eyes was purely and simply...evil." - Dr. Samuel Loomis

I watched an interview with Donald Pleasence. He said one of the reasons he took the role was because of his part as the 'bad' guy in the James Bond movie the only work he could get mostly was bad guys.No one would hire him to play the good/nice guy. Here he was offered the part of a good guy so he took it.He than laughed and said the ironic thing was after playing the good guy Dr.Loomis he couldn't get work again playing the bad guy lol.

John Carpenter scored a real coup in getting Donald Pleasance to play the hero in the Halloween movies. He was a veteran actor who had major roles in films like "The Great Escape" and "Fantastic Voyage". Whenever he's on the screen, his presence and forcefulness makes all of the others in the Halloween films look like high school play actors.

Bless Donald Pleasance- The Thorn trilogy of Halloween Movies may have not been the best, but they could have been much worse without him. To this point for Loomis my heart just breaks for him. He is just as much a victim of Michael, maybe even worse because where Michael kills whoever crosses his path Loomis is there to bare witness at the carnage and evil that he could have prevented and stopped years ago is the proper board heard his case and transferred Michael to a higher security facility. here and now we see a broken man beyond his years with very little he can do against Evil Incarnate only a day before was in his retirement typing away at his autobiography chuckling at someones remarks of him being dead. That may have been the smallest glimmer of happiness We may have ever seen him in this series. Bottom line, Hats off to Donald Pleasance for bringing life this character.

But apparently, later the producers realized they killed off a great character when they decided to bring Michael back in Part 4, so they needed Loomis back again. I don't know the real story behind the scenes, but I think they did the right decision, bringing Loomis back, since he's such a fun character.

Dr. Loomis character along with brilliance of John Carpenter, Debra Hill and Mustapha Akkad was the reason Michael Myers character illuminated through the years the way it did. When Loomis passionately described the unreal EVIL elements of Michael Myers, it was as if he was speaking from some terrifying horror from the Bible. One of the most compelling scenes with Loomis was in Pt 4 when a Reverend picked Loomis up on the road side and said he could see Loomis was after something evil.

Loomis speaks just like John Carpenter spoke.. many times. about Michael being of the supernatural.. I like older films.. for the actual story line.. building Michael's character.. Halloween H20, She says it herself and it shows newspapers about it. However Halloween H20 completely ignores Halloween 3, 4, 5, and 6. And it's instead a direct continuation from Halloween 2.

@zantos45 True but it was still the right choice, what better actor to play remake loomis than a man whom has played a former serial killer.

Travis Grant this is a relative of the Strode’s who adopted Laurie. Laurie to this woman is a foster cousin or foster aunt

@futureanimatior nope because Laurie kills Michael Myers in the end of H20 and that's the end. "Resurrection" doesn't count. Also, H20 never mentions anything remotely related to what happened in 4 and 5. Jamie is never mentioned, ever.

H20 is a direct sequel to H1 and H2 - H4, H5 and H6 do not exist in the H20 timeline. That's why there's no mention of Jamie and that's also why Laurie Strode is alive, because in H4 they said Laurie died in a car accident which is why her Daughter Jamie was being raised by relatives and not Laurie.
