One more cover of this song whis i love as much as Tommy's verson is Axel Rudi Pell cover .Axel is a rock songer so his Hallelujah version is very similiar to what Tommy did-guitar,bass and great voice.❤

Disagree about this being a religious song. He is talking about David and Samson...both of them were brought to their knees, cold and broken by what they did and the consequences. Both of them in that broken condition praised God...the direct translation of hallelujah = Praise Jah/Praise God. This is about being at the lowest point of our life, and admitting we need out Creator. The fulfillment of my favorite bible passage, Job 13:15 Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him!
