Hallasan on Jeju Island (한라산) | Hiking In South Korea
Welcome back to another Let’s Trek Together video! In this episode we hike up to Korea's tallest peak, Hallasan. After spending a few relaxing days on the beautiful Jeju Island, we were ready to tackle a climb up the beautiful dormant volcano. We hope you enjoy as we take complete 18 KM roundtrip on the Gwaneumsa Trail. If you like this video, make sure to subscribe to our channel for more hiking related content!

Very nice production. Thank you! It reminds me a little of an excursion I did driving back from ME. I stayed overnight in Lincoln, NH and hiked Franconia Ridge the next morning. It was mostly overcast at the top, but the clouds broke on the way down. I stopped at the Greenleaf hut at 4,000' to get some coffee, then all hell broke loose. The winds gusted to 65 mph and peling rain blanked the area. The view from the lodge windows looked like a Hollywood movie! Fortunatly, it cleared up a half hour later and I was able to hike back to my car dry.

Planning to hike Hallasan in May, so this gave me a good overview of what to expect. Thank you! A hike I can recommend you is Cerro Chirripo in Costa Rica. Also steep, but very beautiful.

@@LetsTrekTogether yes, beautiful hike! We took the Gwaneumsea trail up and Seongpanak trail down, because I thought it would be easier on the knees. And maybe it was, but the Seongpanak trail had so many boulders and rocks! So the risk of injury was much higher on that trail. We did get a good view of the crater though!
woow nice
@3:29 is that a korean children climbing hallasan??? Wow! Amazing jeju.. i wish i can come there someday before going home in the Philippines for good. Thanks for the tour danny and molly. BTW did you too rent a car while you're in jeju?

May I ask which month was this when you climb? When did you apply for the permit?
@LetsTrekTogether

We hiked it at the end of August and got our permit about two weeks before! This was in 2021 during the aftermath of the pandemic so it might be harder to get a permit now but we’re not sure!
Hello, What month did you climb the mountain?

@@jranaboy thanks! Basically yeah we didn’t really stop. Double check to see if they’re still doing reservations for the trail head! We had to reserve it in advance. Here’s the link to the trail we did! Hallasan Summit on AllTrails www.alltrails.com/explore/recording/hallasan-summit-f228bda?p=-1
