I've got Halfords tools over 25 years old, the only 2 items I've damaged was from abuse. One was a socket ratchet it broke by smashing it with a lump hammer and the other a small ratchet spanner I broke with with a greedy bar. Brilliant tools and amazing value.

i recently got the 36 piece bit set and it hasn’t let me down yet, most of my tools currently are halfords as i’ve just started out as an apprentice technician but they are great and the same warranty as snap on 👍

The warranty on the Halfords advanced gear is worth it alone, can pop in on a weekend and get basically anything replaced straight away

mate I brake a socket on average once a week, I just bag them up and take them down to Halfords. they take their time finding replacements but its worth the hour wait for like 20 new sockets.

They have a pretty complete range, the main one I wish they would make is a set of picks. And maybe extra long and stubby spanners. When i've been building out my toolkit i've actually been comparing it to the Teng 1001 piece set you can buy as that pretty much has every mechanics tool you can think of.

The one thing Halfords have to improve on is making a 50inch tool box with long drawers as a tec I will reach for Halfords over snap on

I think they've sorted this now - they make a 36 inch one now, you can get side cabinets to bring it up to the larger size - I was tempted but i've stuck to my normal one as really the only thing I have that doesnt fit is some spirit levels and some pry bars, my longest breaker bar fits diagonally

I think the good thing with these sets is they pack away nicely with the foam inserts and you can build them up as you need them... I'm forever replacing missing tools but sometimes the big kits are just too much!

The other good thing about them is that you can easily tell which tool you've lost and then spend 4 hours looking for it 🤣

Also the pricing and frequent offers. I use these, Proxxon and Knipex as my tool brands and I often find myself going to these sets as they are good value for money and well made, good if I can’t quite justify the more expensive brands.

I have 100s of pounds worth of these all inside a cabinet within a shed and now most are going rusty as they don't like condensation? They have never been left outside and always cleaned once used? Halfords with not warranty these against rust so now I've got to try and remove the rust somehow?

They seem to have changed the design of the trays, I've got the imperial spanner set with two that are overlayed on each other Got their electrical screwdriver set and their torx screwdriver set too, get sets that get used regularly Edited to say my impact socket set is the same and also gets a fair bit of use, not so sure on the dull finish but it's got more grip than the shiny sockets

The dull finish is too differentiate between impact and normal sockets, this is industry standard as a normal socket can shatter and potentially seriously injure someone if used on an impact gun

making all torx tamper proof is stupid, there torx bits dont seem to last long as it is, hollowing the middle out just makes them snap even quicker. yes i own some halfords tools but thankfully pretty much all myn is from 2007 or so when it was all professional stuff which seems better build
