Aleks, get back safe from your trip; this comment will be here when you return. music has this way of forcing one's words to be disciplined, and some of the most intellectual lyrics are found in Metal. i seriously doubt anyone cares about Rob's stanzas having this 11/10 syllables for each line pair (the chorus having 8/10/8/13): it's very poetic. but what stuck out was "they say from this we grow deep inside much stronger. that may be true but I am still so weak." +eyes bulging wide+ very scary to realize! for all the time and effort we spend to build our muscles, you would think life gets easier, but instead it gets more difficult! and we continue to struggle sometimes just to get through the day. the whole song lyric is filled with gut-wrenching vulnerable honesty.; i only mentioned one bit. perhaps others can pick other portions they found illuminated. i didn't know Rob Halford went solo (i should but didn't) his voice is still powerful so many years later, it was enjoyable listening to him. thanx for putting this song on your channel, wish i knew this place when you first began uploading.

Don't think it's only about drug-taking n' drinking, 'cause he stopped that in the 80's… Rob Halford got sober in like.. 1986! Hmmm, Maybe this song IS only about his being SOBER all these years!? Naw, I think it's also about the struggle we all go through in life - sober, drunk, what ever, life is a hellish roller-coaster and not easy, or fair… it's a long way to the top if you wanna Rock N roll, and even HARDER to Stay at the TOP! Could that be it, staying on the top of the metal world all these years…. The signs are all around you But you miss them You turn your back On every friend you know The games you play To justify your madness Will leave you crying For the pain that grows
