Halfbreed Blades info
Just a follow-up on the recent LSK-01 video. There are couple points, I think I should clarify for your viewers.
1. Country of Origin: How products are not made in Taiwan, they actually comprise both Australia and Taiwan make. Please see blow as stated on our website:
Where is it made?
Halfbreed Blades Australia is a production knife and tool company, comprising a fusion of Australia and Taiwan make. Our fixed blade and folding blade knives and hand tools are designed, developed, hand-finished, quality control checked and packed in Australia. CNC waterjet cutting, machining and grinding, together with our proprietary heat treatment and coating are completed at our production facilities in Taiwan. Machining and hand-finishing in Australia includes but is not limited to sharpening, polishing, fitting and assembly. Materials used in the manufacture of our products are sourced from Austria, Japan and the United States, this includes the steels utilized in the construction of our tools, G10 and Micarta® applied to handles and Kydex® molded in the fabrication of our sheaths. Halfbreed Blades is proudly 100% Australian owned and operated.
2. We use 222 on most of our fittings to secure the scales but use 243 for larger knives (including the LSK and LBK models) design to be used for chopping and batoning, this ensures they don’t come lose under hard use in the field etc.
3. D2: The steel we use is premium Austrian made Bohler K110. The specs are on the website and on the card included with the tool.

You have a very good point that’s what I was thinking you can get a higher end steel knife for the price of that one but at the same time I’m in the market for a do it all fixed blade so I chose that same exact one i wanted a fixed blade that can do it all without any hickups and I definitely didn’t want it to have m390 it’s a pain in the ass trying to sharpen my n690co karambit as it is d2 is perfect for that knife especially a type of knife that can do it all they were really thinking it through in my opinion I did not wanna leave out sharpening for a knife that can basically do any task you need it to do Bc that’ll just kill it

My problem is that most of their knives are actually made in Taiwan. And for the prices that are on these when they are D2 is beyond ridiculous. If these were actually made in Australia and with better steel then I would already have a few knives from these folks. But fir the price they are asking for the LBK-01 I can almost purchase a Scar Blades Papa Bear and a Swamp Rat Rodent 6. Those two knives together were only $78.00 over the $400.00 ish price that is being asked. At the time of some of your reviews these were priced at a much better price. Right now however I wouldn't wish these upon anyone as they are NOT worth it at all! A Taiwanese knife in D2 for $350.00 or much higher in some places is absolutely bonkers!

If I were HalfBreed blades, I’d look at offering some other blade steel options to buyers. I’d be interesting to see what the cost differential is to go to 3V or Elmax or whatever.
