    Hey everyone. Thanks for watching! I noticed that the timings I had written on the signs at the beginning was wrong; 1 red stone tick is 0.1 seconds, so the four scales play at 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4 seconds respectively.

    Hey, thanks for the tip. I may check this out at some point to see if it can play faster tempos or not. My understanding is that you wouldn't be able to play a note any faster than 1 game tick (which is half a redstone tick), which is what is shown in my video, however I could be wrong! I will let you know what I find.

    Ok, so I just tried this out and arrows fire at the same speed, so essentially create the same tempo. Armour stands sliding across ice are slower too, unfortunately.

    @@Blockyverse bedrock still lets you hear noteblocks from farther away than pistons though so you just need to make sure you place them over 16 blocks away. If the noteblocks end up too quiet just have two/3 power at once to make it louder

    You're an absolute life-saver, thank you! I was trying so hard to work out the melodies of the song I'm working on with minecraft's limited tick tempos - didn't even think about using pistons in the design. Thank you so much!

    Wouldn't it be more efficient to have two different lines of redstone, but one starts with a piston push offsetting all the notes afterwards? That way you don't need a piston for each block. (I haven't tried it myself, so I don't know if it'll work)

    from what i can tell the redstone repeaters are forced to work on the ticks theyre supposed to, this piston trick has to be done per piston

    I ran in to this problem as well just like an hour ago the way I solved it was similar to this except I made it branch out so that one if I wanted to space them out by 1.5 tics, I would have one line be powered by a piston and I made the other line have a repeater on 1 tic going into it, than you can just add note make 3 tic repeaters in between the note blocks on both, this is nice because you only hear one piston at the start, I than tried sending an input to that that wasn’t of a button but a repeater and it sounded swung, even though it was going into the exact same circuit. I than figured out that if you power it with a retracted red stone block it works because pistons retract instantly

    I know this is an older video, but does this still work? When I attempt to replicate the final setup at 4:26, my first repeater in its first position does not add any additional delay between the first and second piston, which results in the first two pistons hitting their corresponding notes simultaneously.

    Well, sadly that itself depends on the tempo of the piece you're tranascribing. You just have to go with the fact that pistons take 1.5 ticks to extend, then calculate the timing of the piston activation by subtracting 1.5 ticks from when your note is supposed to be heard.

    I tried making a drum loop using the half ticks, and if my math is correct, 5 ticks per beat = 100 bpm, so adding half ticks would jump it up to 110 ticks. However, when I used my metronome on my piano, it wasn't 110 bpm, but 115 bpm. Anyone who can tell me what is my mistake or how can I get 110 bpm would be a miracle for me, as I have no idea how to reach 110 bpm.

    can we make a quarter redstone tick

  • @acatterz

    @acatterz

    5 жыл бұрын

    Not currently possible without mods unfortunately. The game runs at 20 ticks per second. 1 redstone tick is 2 game ticks (ie. there are 10 redstone ticks per second). So when we say half a tick we really mean half a redstone tick. The pistons basically allow you to use all 20 game ticks to play a sound rather than what you can do with repeaters alone.

    If it’s an irregular part of the song (I mean, doesn’t happen often), then you can often get away with hitting a half tick instead. The speed is fairly fast at that point so it’s not always noticeable. For example, if you listen to any verse in my 7 Rings build. I could have used a third tick, but had to make do
