When I turned 19, I became incredibly sick. Soon breathing was a struggle. After a few months, I was diagnosed with an extremely rare blood disorder (Hereditary Angioedema) that I will have for the rest of my life, but there was a medication that could help. The only thing is that the medication is one of the most expensive in the world and insurance wasn't going to cover it. Without my medication, I was in the hospital about 3-4 times a week. I was poked and prodded and most of the time I couldn't walk and during really bad flares, sometimes couldn't see, speak, or barely breath. There was a 30% I was going to die. I now have my medications and give myself infusions twice a week and now I put this song on every time I do my infusions. For me, it speaks so much for that time in my life and what it took to finally get my medication and stay alive. Absolutely amazing song!

I'm sorry stay strong. There's an herbal supplement I use called Ashwagandha and it helps me stay calm . But make sure you read up on it first because it does stimulate the thyroid. But yeah I'm autistic and prone to anxiety so it definitely helps

SICKKKKK. Saw Halestorm at Sonic Temple in 2019 and I have to say... she sounds PERFECT live. Every yell, every note, it was impossibly perfect and beyond impressive

I've loved Halestorm for over a decade at this point and this might be one of my favorites! Feels like my anthem right now after battling cancer in 2020 and 2021. 1 year cancer free as of 2 days ago.

Thank you for the lyrics. I couldn't make a lot out, but i need to correct you on one lyric. "I'm the end of the world getting lost in a barrier" should me "on the edge of the world, getting lost in oblivion". Otherwise you were right. Thanks again for taking the time to type the lyrics. My jaw dropped and im 56. And that says alot. This is pure raw metal with Lizzy just bringing it to a new level. I've been blasting this all day and night and jamming to it (it's in c minor). Damn does this ever kick you in the balls! Just an epic song that will easily be one of my favorites ever. And I've been a metal head since Sabbath in 1971. Seeing them soon at the NY State Fair on the 31st...and I'll the first in line. Damn i have such a huge crush on her, it's unreal. 😍

She is so damn powerful with her deliveries. Her voice is one of the best I've ever heard. Can't wait to see em live! #raiseyourhorns

I don’t usually comment on KZread, but this tune speaks to me. I know what it’s like to have your heartbeat stop. And yes, I was brought back from the dead.

For years I walked in darkness with PTSD and depression. Thought about ending it all more than once. I would pray that I wouldn’t wake up. I got back into lifting and being outdoors. It has done wonders for me. I’ve dropped 60 pounds. I compete in kayak fishing tournaments and kayak racing. This song is on my workout playlist. Because it feels like I’m back from the dead.

Awesome job, Lzzy, Joe, Arejay and Josh! The song is amazing...you haven't lost one bit of edge to your music. How do you keep pumping out that same intensity year after year while others fail?

Holy shit, I thought I was the only one thinking about the Pat Benetar thing! For years(at least since I was just becoming a teenager, I’m an 18 year old girl), Pat has been my rock and roll idol alongside Amy Lee, and when I saw Lee and Hale just back in November for their combined show together…I saw one of my heroes in her now that I think about it! Doesn’t help one of my buddies I found out is a raging Halestorm fan…so I’m getting recommendations and stumbled across this and wanted to listen. Don’t regret it!

This is real rock... Not the music Olivia Rodrigo makes... I mean, I'm not saying she isn't good, which she definitely is, but my point is she's more pop than rock... And her song good 4 u and brutal are both pop rock... And I have no problem with that but the fact that some people call it rock annoys me...

As someone who died (2018) & fought a condition considered insurvivable, I just wanted to take a moment & say: 🤟FUCK YEAH!!!!!🤟 Recently, I got an awful but unsurprising diagnosis per that history. It generally kills within 6 months. 💔 This song first came on when I was feeling hopeless. I need to come back from an ongoing, complex, downward medical spiral. Music therapy helped me survive last time I was sick & this is added to my Fight to Live list now. 🖤🖤🖤

@@dantepagano5247 thank you for asking. Yes, albeit not as much as I want to be! My newer assessment when I made that post was adult failure to thrive (FTT) which generally only happens in elderly patients at the end of their lives. I'm a severe chronic poisoning survivor (arsenic & lithium) so while the worst of that part is over, my body was still whittled away to almost nothing (~55lbs & I'm 5'7"). My body has very little micronutrient stores left & eats itself whenever I can't get enough nutrition. Everything hurts. I've broken 3 bones in the last year. Everyone these days is trying to avoid puberty while I meed to go through it again to regrow! But on a serious note, I want my poisoner Munchausen by proxy mother in prison before I kick the bucket. TL: DR; "You survived poisoning but your poisoning was so bad you're still not gonna live very long." I'm still fighting that.

A band losing it's sound can go either way. A lot of bands grow and develop their talent by experimenting with different sounds and genres.

The body bags = claustrophobia. My God, these people kill it every time. Seriously, one of the only bands whose entire albums kick a$$.

As someone who has suffered from depression for most of my life, and has been having a particularly difficult time with it the last few years, I really needed this.

Rj had the coolest drumset last night at the st Louis concert! And lzzy telling someone that we can do whatever we want and anything possible(basically) was so inspirational

Lzzy and Floor Jansen are tied for the title of best vocalists alive. Would love to see a collaboration sometime.

This is a huge confidence boost for me... just over 5 months ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, and it really shook me...this song makes me feel like coming back can really happen...if she can come back so can I...I just don't sing this well...thanks for making my day...and many days to come...

When I was a kid I drowned, I died, and was revived by medics, I had to stay un the hospital for a few days because I had a deflated lung This song resonates with me, reminds me I survived that and technically speaking I'm an undead! Woo! No matter what you go through always remember you survived, and don't give up. When I drowned my brain was damaged and I lost a lot of memories, including how to read. I didn't give up
