He always had love for Haku, he just didn't want to show it. It's part of why the principle 25 was brought up 😅.

I like how haku's death affected zabuza deep down. Kakashi didn't become stronger, zabuza simply became weaker because of haku's death, a part of him was gone while Kakashi's strength comes from his comrades. Haku proved the validity of human emotions through his actions, just like Sasuke. Humans can never sever their hearts no matter how broken it is. At the end zabuza regrets the path he chose.

I get that you wanna hate Zabuza but I’m gonna add context to humanize his character. In Naruto to graduate and become a shinobi there’s a test you must perform to pass the ninja academy. For Zabuza it was for him to murder his entire graduating class. (Basically let’s say you graduated from high school class of 2019. For you to graduate however you had to kill your entire graduating class which you had been friends with for seven years basically. You’d probably be desensitized afterwards.) Not only that in Naruto, Shinobi are soldiers that carry out missions for the sake of their country regardless of age. You heard from Sakura one of the rules of being a Shinobi is that the shouldn’t show emotion, or be emotional. They must be able to carry out missions even if they’re in distress, and are supposed to prioritize the mission over the sake of their comrades. In case you didn’t notice in the first couple episodes Kakashi attempted to teach Team 7 the opposite. He says “Those who abandon the rules are regarded as scum, but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum”. Moving on from that Zabuza represents the ideals of what a shinobi is supposed to be initially… A tool to be used by those who employ them to carry out whatever task their employer, or country sees fit. I hope Krysta sees this, and I hope it helps her better understand the series if she does because Naruto has a lot of complex themes/narratives that they don’t explicitly state. You have to watch the series a few times to pick up on these narratives, and themes.

Sure we can humanize him but it’s not wrong to dislike him, we could do that to the many psychopaths and maniacs in the world and add context to their actions but that wouldn’t change their horrendous actions or deeds done. Zabuza led to the death of a child and he recognizes that himself

@@MilleniumKage I understand that however I don’t believe monsters are born they’re made. Monsters become that because of the tragedies, and cruelty they’ve experienced Zabuza exemplifies this. I’m not saying she has to like him however instead of immediately demonizing someone for what you believe are their wrongs, or shortcomings maybe try to investigate why they behave the way they do. That’s all I’m saying.

I don't really think you're supposed to feel bad for Zabuza. You sympathize with him in that this is the world the shinobi lives in, but you always feel bad for Haku above all else. Zabuza himself doesn't want or ask for any sympathy in his last moments

@@VelvetAura feeling bad about Zabuza is a person to person thing. In a sense I felt bad for everyone because they system they were born and raised in was f'd up. Not their fault.

Now that the land of waves arc is finished you are about to move into one of the most legendary arcs in Naruto The Chunin Exams Prepare to be blown away...

yaaas we back! finally! :) so happy to see you again :) Inari learned a lot from Naruto the little boy has grown :) Naruto was really gonna off Haku thats wild :D in the end he sacrificed himself for the one person he truly cared about, poor Kakashi now has Haku's blood on his hands thats not what he wanted :P Kakashi's move is called Lightning Blade, not sure why the subs said "blaze" :D the ending to this arc taught us a lot, love the way they shifted the perspective on Zabuza and Haku and showed us that its not as simple as somebody being evil, everybody got their past and motivations :) we got to understand how shinobi work in this world, how they are viewed, its a tough life :P Zabuza's death is similar to the one of Musashibo Benkei who was a Japanese warrior monk :) there is also a real Great Naruto bridge in Japan :D

traditionally, outside of naruto, Ninja were assassins who murdered people stealthily for their lords. They WERE an unquestioning tool for murder. This story arc and Zabuza relationship to Haku and Gatou are the show's way of telling the audience "This is what you know ninjas are" and then Naruto's proclamation at the end of saying he will find his own ninja way, are the show telling you "this show ain't about the kind of ninjas you know". So for all intents and purposes, Zabuza is the classical kind of ninja, albeit a rogue/mercenary one.

Naruto Is Such A Brave Hero

Blaming Zabuza is the wrong way to look at it. This isn't a him issue. It is literally their job to be an emotionless tool, and Zabuza's supposed heartlessness is a window into the wider world of Naruto. To cope with a life of constantly killing and being killed, people like Zabuza act tough to guard their heart. Naruto forced his shell to crack, but he really did care about Haku all along, which was hinted at throughout. Zabuza is a villain from Naruto's perspective, who disagrees with the way the ninja world operates, but compared to the rest of the world Zabuza is just a normal shinobi.

You might bring up how Zabuza is especially brutal, being known as the kid who walked into the academy and massacred over a 100 examinees, but from his perspective that made sense to do. Their graduation exam was to kill or be killed, so logically, Zabuza just killed as many as possible. It's in line with the mindset he grew up with.

He isn't the only ninja around, and if we see Kakashi amongst many other shinobi in this show value their comrades, and treat children as more than tools, Zabuza could've too. My brother, the mist village is vastly different to the leaf. Kakashi had people like Minato, Obito and Rin who helped him change. Zabuza had nothing close to that.

I understand that as a shinobi they have rules that are ingrained into them with experience so I get why he tried to seem callous when haku sacrificed himself. All I’m saying is haku was really young when they met so he had plenty of time to atleast reciprocate a tiny bit of appreciation towards haku. It’s unfortunate that haku died without knowing Zabuza final act and words. *spoiler if you haven’t watched shippuden* We know haku never knew about zabuzas final act and words because we basically get a confirmation of it during the 4th shinobi world war. When the 7 ninja swordsman of the mist get reanimated(zabuza and haku are among them) and they have to fight kakashi again

NO SHOT, kakashi was not worse. Kakashi smartened up after that convo with obito. He realized what was most important. As a child. Even after losing both rin and obito and joining the anbu then the root he still wasn’t as bad as Zabuza. And you’re saying I don’t understand the show. The hidden mist was called the THE BLOOD MIST VILLAGE for a reason and Zabuza made a name for himself during that time.

I was referring more so to Krystal. She was heavily blaming Zabuza but never once said anything about the world or system that caused him to be that way. Originally i said Kakashi might've been worse because Hiruzen made Minato look after him because he became such an issue after his dad died, and being in the root just made things worse and they literally had to pull him out of it. But saying worse than Zabuza I guess is a little much considering Kakashi would most likely never have swung through his comrades corpse to get the kill like Zabuza did. I wasn't trying to argue with your previous comment, I was just trying to add to the conversation relevant information. My bad for the misunderstanding.

Gosh you are so annoying, the redemption of villains is what makes Naruto series special and you can't forgive zabuna but keep whining like kid of how you hate him. Also it wasn't that he just suddenly felt sad, he had emotions for haku, he was just suppressing it all these years for his ninja way but in the end, the years of buried feelings got released and he realised how much he actually cared about him
