I'm Irish and proud, everytime I see and hear the haka I feel the connection to my kiwi brothers and the passion and pride they feel , I love the fact that it's not just a war dance like some people think , but a way of showing love and gratitude to there brothers sisters of those present and those who have passed on , much love from Ireland 🇮🇪

Well Ireland has massive connections to nz because a lot of us born there have Irish roots because we are a British colony. Any colonial whether it be in nz, Aussie, SA or the UK feel the connection when they see haka. It connects us all because that is our heritage.

I’m from Saudi and I stayed in NZ for 4 years and every time I hear the Haka I feel goosebumps.

im half Puerto Rican but i found out i have Polynesian blood other than Taino Arawak from my native american heritage seeing this made me feel proud to be of great Polynesia too.

As an Aboriginal I love the similarities within your culture and ours as we share alot of the same believes much respect to the brothers and sisters across the ditch

I'm a proud Moari man currently living in Australia. At 1:49 Master INIA says "We don't own the land, We belong to it". Sadly this is a perfect example of the difference between Australia and NZ. With regard to embracing indigenous culture NZ are so far ahead and as long as national sorry day exists, Aus will not move forward. Apologising for something (yes it was horrific and an atrocity) year in and year out will not encourage reconciliation. It creates a divide.

Completely agree with him when he said doesn't matter where your from you will feel something I get goosebumps every time I see a haka its deep rooted tradition that the rest of the world has lost

New Zealand has been on my bucket list for 20 years. I would love to visit and tour the country. Unfortunately, my finances will probably never support a trip to this beatiful corner of our world. Anyone have the Maori words to this haka? I know the English translation is in the subtitles, but I would love to have the Maori words to understand the grammatical layout of this haka in comparison to the English translation.

I think it's the fact that when you here the haka, it meant many people were going to die because it's a war chant, that's why people cry or get emotional when they witness it. I believe in reincarnation and past lives, so chants like this has been recorded deep in peoples DNA? But I might be wrong.

Because your wairua or your spirit is acknowledging the truth in what you are observing. Leaders of the West had no idea that there was absolutely nothing they could do that would separate Maori from our language our culture our history and our ancestors because they had achieved to do so with so many other societies. Also Te Reo or the Maori language is as ancient as Hebrew so when it's spoken chanted or sung all of our ancestors hear it and pay attention. We are a spiritual people what you feel is spirit.

Tena koe! PLEASE. May i have the name of this Haka???... I am a 3rd generation of fullblood Maori... My mother grew up in Aotearoa during the 60's; when the Britz/Palangi deemed learning/teaching whakapapa/te korero maori 'illegal'.... i wish to learn this haka--i am the youngest TANE of 16. My mother married an American in the early/mid 60's..... I was taught advanced--whakapapa from my great great great grandfather (Maihi Parone Kawiti) and still hold to date a physical copy of his written record of whakapapa... I wish to learn as many haka as i can--in order to relate better. Please tell me the name of this Haka.

You'll be better off tracking where your whanau is from? all tribes and sub tribes have their own unique haka and waiata. I suggest you jump online and check if your Koro or nanny had any land in NZ? Maori land court online.. Good luck with it all

@@jennafarrell5783 Because of your post i checked and i from Te Nga Rau Uru tribe waitotara i found an aunt who said my father left land but nobody knew where i was finding out you were adopted at age 2 when im now 47 was strange to say the least.Anyway 1 week later get a letter from wairarapa moana Re:Transfer of interests of a deceased owner.And my aunt has sent me my family tree and i am on it but with a question mark because they didnt know where i was.Question mark is gone now.Thank you
