BBQ is an ex-police officer, who has taken arms to address the intentional oversight by those in power, who now call him a gang leader. When I listen with out judgment, I hear a man who is looking for peace, who will use the gun if it comes down to it. I don't know this man or his history, but based on this interview, he comes off as a rational man who wants better for his people and community. He also spoke how he and others for the last 2-3 yrs. have tried to get there needs and situation addressed, only to get the run around. This method may seem crude to many, however respect is earned, not always given. I pray that Hati comes to an amicable solution, and that the rebuilding of the entire community can take place.

BBQ is no different than Sir Mark Rowley who started the role as police chief here in the UK, and taking U-turn after he believes hundreds of corrupt officers serving in the force should not be in the job. Just that in Haiti, in the order of their society is suffering decades worth of chaos and abuse from higher power structures. BBQ as a former police chief is simply, in an unorthodox way attempting to clean up corruption and lack of accountability but only found support from the common poverty stricken people.
