Hi Beautiful! Today we watch people do some very dramatic wolf cuts. They cut off so much hair, I couldn't believe it!

This was me. Buzzed my head years ago and kept it in a pixie-ish cut and I've now started to grow it out to a bob. My hair is so thick... there are days(many days) where I want to cave and buzz again because it's so hot(reason I buzzed it), but now it's my new challenge to stick with it and grow it out. I love seeing girls rocking the buzz cut. One of the biggest power moves of all time.

I've been wanting to shave my head for YEARS! My hair has been down to my butt practically my whole life, and I'm 29. There are a few things stopping me though. 1) I have a long, narrow head/face that's also lumpy and cone shaped. So it isn't the ideal head/face shape for a shaved head. 2) My hair is very fine and thin. So it will be flat when it grows back, and I do NOT want to style it. And 3) I've had nightmares where I shave my head and immediately panic and regret it.

My mom was forced to have short hair because her mom didn't want to deal with it. So my mom always had me had long hair. I went short in middle school and when I look back I loved it but got made fun of so much. Now I have a shave side and I have the "It's only hair it'll grow back" state of mind and it's great.

I'm sure you look stunning. Good luck with your chemo & wishing you a swift and full remission & recovery. Also, your husband sounds like a great guy. Little actions of support can make such such difference, especially when you're facing an illness like cancer. A personal story of mine on the theme of loving support: When my mum had breast cancer she was lucky enough to not need chemo after her mastectomy but her hand swelled up from lymphedema, so her wedding ring no longer fit, she hadn't taken it off in almost 40 years until the surgery. She was devastated, but we told her we'd get her a nice necklace to wear it on, obviously she was still sad but it helped a little. She'd had complications caused by the pain meds so was in hospital 10 days instead of the 3 they expected and has never had patience for being a patient. Dad was so effected by it all, and he said to me he wanted to do something nice for her & asked if I could take him to go look for a new gold wedding band. We found one that was so pretty & perfect that when the girl in the shop got it out to show him he started crying...bittersweet, happy & sad tears (it was like getting to marry her all over again but he had the worry and sadness over the original ring no longer being wearable, and at the time not knowing how bad the cancer prognosis was yet). When we took it too mum, he cried again, which made me cry. And then when he gave it to mum, she cried too, but it also made her so happy, it was such a small act bu it had a huge impact, and I felt incredibly honoured to have been able to be there to help him choose it. She made a full recovery but the lymphedema stuck around, so she wore the old ring on a necklace and the new ring on her hand. When Dad suddenly passed away 10 years later we went to add his wedding ring to the necklace. The "new" ring had been getting loose and she was so worried about losing it, so she was going to reluctantly add it to the chain too, on a whim she decided to try the old band again (she thought it would still be too small)...it fit perfectly once more. So since he passed she's worn the original band and the "new" band and his are together on the chain - both rings are equally as important to her. And even though it was a very difficult time when she had her surgery etc, they created that moment to share (and I also have a beautiful memory of helping my dad pick a wedding ring for my mum, I feel not many people get that privilege). So, even though you are facing such a difficult time right now, you and your husband are creating those good (although bittersweet) memories you'll have forever, that remind you of how much you support and love each other. And hopefully one day that will be the predominant memory over all the negatives that you're currently facing. An added bonus is that I bet you're absolutely rocking that beautiful bald head (just remember to always use generous amounts of sunscreen on it, even if it doesn't seem that sunny out).

"If it looks bad, I'm gonna shave it" was also my backup plan when I started doing my own hair. I lasted about a year before I actually pulled that particular trigger (not because it looked bad, I was just kinda done with having... hair). Put the 8-guard on my clippers and went to town back in June. It's been so nice having short-short hair during the summer, I just dunk my head under the tap and it's an instant halo of freshness.

I shaved my head once because I did not like my hair for a very long time. I really HATED it. So I shaved it. It felt so ridiculously exhilarating the first day. I wore a wig from the salon. I just kept on watching the mirror when I got home. It was so different and new and I saw I was still beautiful. I just kept laughing. Then I woke up the next day and felt totally horrible. So I posted on my fb about it. My friends were so supportive. They sent me photos of Angelina Jolie and other actresses looking beautiful when they were bald. When I got back to work, there were mixed reactions. 😂🤣It was crazy and I felt crazy because it was so different from sociatal norms. But I felt free and beautiful. And you know what, I have a better relationship with my hair now. I now understand that my hair is under my control and I can shave or grow it out according to what I want. I am beautiful with whatever hair I have. It's just hair. ❤️

“Women don’t need to have hair.” Kinda… really resonated in the best way. I went to the Renaissance Festival today, and I saw sooooo many ladies with either buzz cuts or a smooth shave. One girl had on this astonishingly gorgeous ram-horn headdress, and one of her friends was helping to redraw the ivy lines and nebula swirls she’d painted on before arriving in the morning. Not a performer… just a visitor of the realm. I liked seeing so many women with extra-short or no hair. Most of the hairbraiding spots had either small kids, or men. (Lots of Vikings-show braids. One fellow asked the hair artists to ‘just have fun with the flowers and glitter. My kids will love it, too!’)

@Peal yeah, it’s an easy way to feel “in control.” Changing your hair length, style, etc is something a lot people do when they feel lost and like they have little control in their circumstances. It’s a way to assert oneself while simultaneously defying society’s standards. I shaved my head when I was deep in a depressive episode just so I experience some kind of change. I felt so stuck, like nothing I did amounted to anything. But the biggest reason I shaved was because my hair is difficult to manage, and I was so depressed so it was constantly gross. It just felt more hygienic to shave it off and not worry about hair care.

It’s really annoying when women just want to shave their head or cut a lot of hair off or basically just change their style and everyone will be like “are you okay, did you have a breakdown or something”, the same goes for all the people who are doing something with their hair and call it mental breakdown when they just decided to change their style but mental breakdown sounds so qUiRkY🤪🤪🤪 Mental health problems and shaving your hair are not the same things. Just let women do whatever they want to their hair without having to find an excuse. Especially when women look soooo good with shaved head

I had waist long hair and went to a professional hairstylist to get a very short wolf cut (pixie cut length). And I loved the result don't get me wrong but the entire length of my hair was wasted and thrown away. Apparently they don't donate or sell hair. Due to my genes I am blessed with pretty thick and extremely healthy hair and the fact that if I would have chosen a better place to get a haircut it could have been turned into a wig for someone and would have brought them so much happiness saddens me.

I cheered at your refreshing perspective on shaving your head. 15 years ago I decided to shave my head because I saw a co-worker do it and she looked beautiful. For about a year I shaved my head and felt more beautiful than I have with any other haircut. Instead of a really high forehead, thinning hair, cow licks instead of bangs, and constant premature grey frizz..... I was delicate, feminine, and suddenly my facial features were balanced and beautiful. In that time, I received more compliments than I have in my life and was asked for my number more often too! However.... I got really sick of all the other comments, people saying they were embarrassed to be seen with me (yes, seriously), strangers ascribing motive and having to explain to them it's just a look, and the freedom so many seemed to feel to tell me how much they hated it, like it was a challenge I had put before them or a statement for them to answer. Like shaving my head was supposed to "mean something". It's a freakin' hairstyle, world. A hairstyle.

You use 5+ evenly separated sections, each one shorter than the last, to get layers from the low back up to the shoulder blades with a slight V-cut look. You get to keep your length, the ends looks healthy, the roots are voluminous, and the hair doesn't feel heavy! Plus, it looks beautiful 🥰

You're honestly my favorite person, women don't need hair, or when people think shaving your head equals mental break down. It needs to be said, it needs to be normalized. It needs to stop being a "joke" for everyone to just throw out there. I dyed my hair blue and a good majority commented thinking I had a mental break down or I did it because I broke up with my ex. Can I not do stuff for me? People are allowed to change their look just for them, we need something to be happy about and if it happens to be hair then so be it.

And even if it is because someone broke up with someone or is going through a life change, it's not a sign of bad mental health to change up something in your appearance. It can be a healthy way to cope. I dyed my hair purple with teal underneath and shaved half my head when my ex broke up with me. It wasn't because I was in a bad mental space it just felt like a refreshing start to a new chapter in my life.

Exactly! I plan to cut my hair in the far future, as a symbolic way of starting anew. I love symbolism so I'm determined to do it this way, once I've finally found myself.

@@triforce_majora EXACTLY! I just wanted to do these little things for myself. Recently I chopped off my hair and the amount of comments I got was ridiculous.

@@handsupgimmeallyourcash7475 I hope you absolutely love it 🥰 it's so refreshing to do these new changes. I was always scared to have short bangs but recently I fell in love with them.
