Hey Brad! Have you ever considered captioning your videos? It would make your videos accessible to d/Deaf and HoH people like myself and unlock a whole new audience for you. YT's automatic captioning system isn't adequate and you have such a big audience now a viewer might even volunteer to do it (as many do for other channels)! I'd be happy to provide some resources on the matter :) Edit: I know KZread has auto-captions. They are not adequate for people who rely on cc to understand the content of a video. Accessibility takes some work, but it's not too much to ask.

Things I have learned from Brad: 1. Color doesn’t lift color, use bleach if you want lighter hair 2. Bleach doesn’t leather 3. When dying your hair start at the ends and leave the roots for last cause it processes faster 4. Never use box dye, use professional color 5. Never use 40 volume developer, 30 volume will do the same job 6. T18 does not tone your hair unless it’s level 10 blonde 7. Purple shampoo is not a toner, it just keeps your already colored hair ashy blonde 8. Bleach needs moisture, never let it dry out, put a wetted plastic bag over your head and use foils 9. Put a lot of bleach on your hair and take tiny sections so you won’t get spotting 10. Be gentle to your hair and scalp, use a cotton shirt to dry it, don’t wring it with towel And the list can go on....

You’ve actually helped me so much that I don’t have to go to the hairdresser anymore, I learned how to do great layered cuts on me and my teenage daughters and I do my own highlights and toner, I learned from you to put a darker dye on the roots when using bright colors so I do my daughters hair really well ,they like bright colors like red orange purple pink etc and I always put a darker version of the mids and ends on the roots by adding a few drops of midnight blue into dusty pink for example and get a darker version that’s perfectly ashy pink without going purple. I literally have people in public stop us when we’re together to ask where we get our hair done and they end up freaking out when I tell them I just watch a little KZread and do it myself lol

@@rachelhenderson655 Show me a stylist who is threatened by a mom doing her kids' hair at home, and I'll show you an insecure stylist. There will always be people who are happy to pay someone else to do it, and if you're good, you'll find people happy to pay a lot. Lots of people started doing their hair themselves during the COVID shutdown, but the salon where I work is busier now than we were pre-COVID. It didn't cost us customers, at least not overall in any lasting way. I know stylists who find it annoying to do the hair of someone who typically does their own hair - these clients tend to be particular, but don't use the same terms the stylist was trained in, so communication can be difficult. But I don't know any stylists who feel threatened or "taken away from" by someone who does their own hair at home. You don't owe anyone your business.

@@rachelhenderson655 exactly! Who needs 'em. I've got so many bad haircuts from "professionals" who refused to cut the length I wanted because they didn't believe me that I wanted short hair (I couldn't afford to go often so it was always long when they saw it and they would say "I'll just cut a little bit and I can always do more" even when I beg them to cut it short and showed pictures, and then when they did "more" it was still too long) or they lied and told me undercuts were "itchy" and refused to do one because they weren't in fashion at the time. They did this to themselves by taking it too seriously and not letting us make decisions. Sometimes it goes wrong when I do it myself but it has never once been as bad as some haircuts I paid 5 hours wages for were. And I always have fun and learn something new every time. They literally won't let you pay for classes here until you've spent a year working in a salon as a cleaner, it's like a cult with secret knowledge, I looked everywhere for classes but nope, not without quitting my job and cleaning for a year, they can stick their cult. And actual good hairdressers will always have something to offer. Only hacks like the ones I'm talking about are threatened. I have seen hairdressers do amazing cuts on KZread I could never copy, THOSE are worth the money, not the years of bad or good but easy cuts I wasted money on

In lockdown in October I bleached and toned my hair with your tips - I thought that it was the perfect opportunity to try it out as I wouldn't have needed to see anyone if I had failed, but it actually came out soooo good and I never went back to the salon. I also have a very sensitive scalp so I always use 20 instead of 30 and it just works perfectly. Saved me a lot of money!

To be fair with the toner issue, nothing or not much of anything out there actually has the word "toner" on it, and if you go online to say sally beauty or something like that when you put toner into the search, those high lifts are what shows up. and after watching a ton of these videos, the difference isn't usually explained (clearly he is in this one, but not many of the others) just playing devils advocate here...

It’s actually surprising how much misinformation on toners gets put out to people tbh no wonder so much damage happens at the toner stage when it really shouldn’t add much damage at all to your hair. After a few years of bleaching my hair I only recently (within the last year or so) found out a toner will ideally be semi or demi permanent and permanent hair color works way different and that the t18 etc that everyone is told to use is actually a permanent hair color advertised as a toner and is why it ends up ruining a lot of peoples hair

I feel that many women just don't realize how sectioning makes doing the whole job easier. You can see each section better then if you didn't section and your hair gets all over the place. Manic Panic does have green or blue base color and it turns your hair to thosd colors when it washes out or is being removed. Stick to colors that dont leave green or blue tone deposit on your hair. Artic fox does not leave deposit base color on your hair. I've used blue, p Deep purple, teal, and pink of the artic fox and when it washed out no blue or green was left over. The second girl looks like she's trying to ombre her hair, but it just turned out splotchy. By the way if you don't have gloves girls and your bleaching your hair with you bare hands, pour vinegar over them afterwards to stop the bleach process on your hands. I preferred the golden blonde on the second girl better then the bright blonde, it worked better with her skin tone.
