I started washing my hair every 3-4 (mostly 3) days and let me tell you! My 4b hair has thanked me! Introducing that hydration and keeping my scalp clean more frequently has helped my hair grow so much faster!

I feel like naturals who big chop have fast results. Instead of transitioning the entire time, I most definitely should have done a big chop🤦🏾‍♀️ and we won’t talk about the heat damage phase. Great video your hair is gorgeous😍

Girl i feel you on that. My first big chop had grown back within 2.5 years then this last big chop in april and already in two months my hair full and curly and the shrinkage is real with the hair routine I have going on. I tried transitioning and I just couldn't do it. I prefer starting from scratch but from your profile pic your hair looks AMAZING!

One advantage of big chop for me is I got to learn about my hair texture and what works the best while it was short. Now that my hair is longer and thriving I'm growing along and not struggling.

So, I big chopped yesterday and I went through the same emotions and I'm only a day in and so many of my sentiments are similar to yours. I feel free and good about it but today I came on here to just hear other women's stories. Yours resonates with me so much and now I realize that it was actually one of your photos that I used to show my nom what I wanted yesterday lol! Thank you for sharing your journey.

I’m excited and looking forward to rocking my twa again when I get my hair cut next week!

“When I’m not drinking water I’m drinking alcohol”.... sounds like me + coffee! 😅😅😅 Super helpful tips! The half up half down has been my go to during transitioning. I did several deva cuts vs the big chop, and since the damage tends to be more toward the front, half up half down is a great why to show off your curls in the back half of the hair, and “blend in” the damage with the up part

I hope this helps, but when your hair gets longer, the weight of the strand is heavier, so that causes the curls to stretch and seem looser. That’s why your curls look looser the longer it gets.

My hair shorter in front, mid length on the side, longer in the back. I have measured different points of my head and my strands are about the same length (4a/4 ).
