Hair | A Full Airbrush Painting Lesson

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I wanted to make an in-depth hair painting tutorial, more so than my previous one, so here it is. Within this video I'll show you all the techniques that I use to paint realistic looking hair. Of course I will be using an airbrush to apply paint and we will be using a lot of negative techniques to remove highlights. I'll also discuss a bit of art history and common mistakes when painting hair. This lesson is geared towards the beginner, so I tried my best to walk you through the entire process. Hopefully this one is helpful! If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below so that I can get back to you. Thanks!

Good one with guessing who. I recognized it real quick. Mark I love the fact you add art history to your videos. I don't think there is a other airbrush artist who incorporates this with their work like you do. Thanks again.

Great video. Very informative. How about a video on very curly, African American type hair as that seems to be quite a bit more difficult to achieve. Thanks.

Excellent question! There is actually very little difference between curly and straight hair, no matter the ethnicity. Each curl is the same technique of dark, light, dark gradients. I'll def be making a video about this in the future.

This is excellent. I've seen other hair tutorials but this one really helps me understand what I was doing wrong; spraying in areas completely and not using soft dagger strokes to build the texture. I also need to do more erasing with the blade and eraser. It seems like you used those tools as much if not more than the airbrush. Working one area at a time as you do, and not jumping around, will help as well. Thank you for another great video! Wish you made more than one a week. ;)

Hey, how’s it going ? How do you paint hair on metal ? Can you scrape it with an x-acto knife like on canvas or is there something else to use or do ? Thanks
