Not a MUA but def a MU enthusiast. I’ve been hopeless with my hair for 10+ years and only just figured out how to curl my hair with a flat iron too. I realized I was so concentrated on trying to imitate the hand motions I saw people doing that I wasn’t just doing the curling/twisting motion that felt natural. That sounds weird but once I stopped trying to imitate and instead just told myself to “clamp, twist your wrist away from your face, and pull down,” it was easy and fast. It sounds so silly but I was soooo hung up imitating others in the mirror that I would trip myself up. Now I can just curl my whole head in 10 minutes.

I just discovered you and really like the tips you gave in this video for long hair. I haven’t tried it yet but I am really interested to try your tip about making the ends of the hair straight. I could tell a big difference in your before and after picture of this. A little detail but it made a big difference. Thanks!

Loved this! I like my ends straighter too, I use the same method to curl my hair and just pull the piece of hair out when there 1-2 inches left at the bottom and leave it uncurled instead of going back in after.

Interesting that it helped that Michelle physically helped you move through the curl. I never used to have any problems with using my flat iron to curl until I broke my wrist and elbow, now it is like they just don't now what to do. I do have less bend in my wrist. It is weird. I use my Airwrap a lot these days, I use it more like a traditional curling wand to get more beachy curls.

Former hopeless hair girl here too!! 🙋🏻‍♀️ Both your curls and color are so so beautiful! My only suggestion is to leave the last inch of your hair uncurled. Will give you that undone look without the extra straightening step!

  • @asima781

Beautiful! I usually curl my hair, what helps with sectioning is also using a couple of long clips to keep the curled hair separate from the uncurled, also start curling the hair in the back first and then make my way to the front (but that's because I know how many curls I'll get from one section). For baby hairs I feel clear eye brow gel, i.e the Anastasia or the Benefit one's work well too :-)

I’d like to see an extensive review on all prices of eyeshadow sticks. I use these from all brands for a quick makeup or as a base for powder eyeshadows for longevity. Can you please find some unique colours like the terracotta matte from revlon or the weird antique green one from make up forever? I need something not pewter mauve taupe, is it me or do all Laura Mercier caviar sticks look the same on the eye?

For anybody else out there who has extremely fine hair that refuses to hold a curl and gets weighed down by styling products, I find that old-fashioned techniques work better for me. For example, setting damp hair in curlers or clips and letting it air dry.
