I feel that this girl is exactly what country music has been needing!

This is probably the 13th song I've listened of her in a stretch, but all damn good ones. I've never have heard any country artist's song that many times and found it all good..! That is telling how good she is. This kid has got talent coming out of her like a faucet. God bless her and her future success. Hope she stays grounded like she sounds she will. There is still hope for good country music. I rate her right along Alan Jackson in the female category, and that is saying a lot from me, the skeptic.....

I know this is supposed to be a sort of “coming of age” song, but it honestly just sounds like a cautionary tale of what happens when parents send their daughters to college. 😬

To me it reads as an endorsement of the college experience and how it helps women (and men) find themselves (“losing her inhibitions, finding her voice”), and a refutation of those who claim college has nothing to do with the “real world”.

The tune is exactly the same as Tom Petty's " Learning to Fly".

Quite the opposite; she learns that some things she was taught when she was younger don’t apply to her or don’t reflect reality. It describes the undoing of indoctrination.
